@TheCalamity27 except he isn't portrayed as stark's successor. He outrights refuses being an avernger at the end of the movie for crying out loud. Tony is also kind of a dick in this movie.

You're gonna criticize homecoming for "sacrificing plot and character" for something like humor, and go around praising the amazing spiderman? The movie where peter doesn't even learn his lesson by the end? Peter ignores his gf's father's dying wish, and gets together with her again, putting her in danger? Idk about you, but that is sacrificing plot and character for a more happy ending or setup or whatever. Also, spiderman when he was hunting his uncle's killer (which is a plot line that gets dropped and has no resolution like in SM 2002), comes across as a villain, and a complete douchebag which I doubt is the intention. He even admits that if he was the guy he was looking for, peter would've beat the crap out of him. There is a line between joking around, and being a douche, and spidey in that scene crosses it.

Ignoring all that, the main villain is pretty bad too. What was lizard's plan after TEMPORARILY turning everyone into NY into lizards?

I respect people who don't like both TASM and Homecoming, but bashing homecoming for doing the same thing TASM 1 did, and going around saying how much better it is, is stupid.

Tbh Andrew’s portrayal of Spiderman is still the best for me. His humor, his relationship with Gwen, his complicated past with his parents. 1. The point of each spiderman origin story is to showcase the flaws of not following uncle Ben's famous philosophy. To do this, they did "villainise" Peter to show the disconnect he had with himself. They did a similar thing in the first Spiderman if you watched it.

2. It's meant to be a tragic film and I understand your discontent when you say it sacrificed plot, but since there was meant to be a third movie, of course there will be a few unresolved issues and holes

When gwen died in the comic and movie peter lost part of his own innocence and happiness he once had. Eventhogh his life was a mess before he met gwen or mj. Gwen gave him hope and happiness as well as motivation to make the city for her and everyone. In the comics it was a bit different gwen never knew he was spider-man. In fact she died never knowing. At least in the movies she knew before she died. One thing that seperate peter from most heroes with tragic or a dark past is that he doesnt let it consume him. There have been times peter was either on the breaking point of insanity and dark intentions. Many people including fans that spider-man is always a happy go lucky superhero like superman or the flash. In reality he is this tortured young poor soul who is the butt of life's cruel jokes. He can't never get his life together and he always ends up losing people that he cares about making peter parker imo the most tragic superhero ever. Yet despite his tragic problems he doesnt always let it overwhelm him or cause him to go down a dark path. He still maintains his lovable and goofy sense of humor even in the mist of very serious moments. He still maintains his noble heroic morality and tries his best to save many lives as he can. Despite his flaws, insecurities, and mistakes peter parker is not only favorite superhero but my inspiration in life. Ive made so many mistake where i feel i cant do anything right but peter shows me it is ok the only thing u can do is learn from it and move on.

Honestly gwen had her great moments in the comics, when she would slap a guy for actually talking bad about peter for calling him a coward. Gwen would always defend peter and worry about him constantly. She also said to peter ive never forget and realize she was perfect for him. In one issue peter was depressed for not having money to take gwen on a reasonable date and be there for her. Gwen carressed his check and kissed him saying that she never cared about the fact he had money or was strong she liked peter for who he was. A smart, funny, and caring young man who would put his family first before himself. She even saying that being with him was the best thing that ever happened to her. That moment showed me right there that gwen truly loved peter and i did not buy that awful story called sins past bull crap for a minute. Stan had established the fact gwen was supposed to be the one for peter but fans and other writers back then didnt give ten craps. That was one pf the reasons she was killed off and felt it was unjustified. I liked the fact they did her character justice before they killed her. Making it more impacting than it was in the comics.

It’s good to know I’m not alone when it comes to liking this Spider-Man the most! Just like everyone else, I’ve watched them all and Andrew’s hits different. Toby was too cheesy for me, and while I like Tom, I feel like there’s just too much Ironman in his suit and not enough Spider-Man. I understand that Andrew was a bit cocky compared to the comics, but the on screen performance was amazing and the action flow was just better. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! That opening shot is so beautiful, the way Garfield's shadow contrasts the water. I applaud the cinematographer of this film, sad to see Andrew go :(

No doubt Andrew was the best Spidey. But also Neither of the two MJ'S can match the Essence of Gwen Stacy. The Bond between them is so pure and real. Hats off to the Cast ( Andrew and Emma ). It's definitely not everyone's cup of tea to convey several feelings in a single scene ( this video).
I personally loved both TASM movies the most. Don't wanna compare other spidermans directly, but Andrew is Definitely The BEST ❤️.

Some parts of the scenes were improvised and Mark Webb liked them so much he left them in, because their chemistry was too powerful and natural. Helps that they were dating too and they loved each other so much.

This will always be one of my favorite movies. I’ve always loved AG as Spider-Man and I’m so glad more people are coming around to that now. And the fact that he got his closure now makes my heart so happy

Out of all the films I have watched, Gwen's death has always had an impact on me. I can't put a finger on why, I think it is because I always wanted them to have a happy ending, plus their relationship was always so adorable and perfect.

O my god i'm so freaking addicted to Andrew Garfield and Emma stone after realizing there a real couple irl I just became more addicted wanted to see them together addicted searched so many videos with them together I hate but enjoy getting addicted to other peoples personal life's even in the movies.. Watched this movie like 20 times.. and the first one even more.. death scene made me cry every time movie would have been so much better without the death but... it did leave a good message even as a super hero u cant save everyone.. even the ones you love more than anything.

The part were Gwen died and peters is crying for her, that part of the film is really good acting and then the part were he’s at her grave and times moving on but he’s still standing there that broke me inside couldn’t stop crying! One minute the person you love is alive and talking an then the next thing you know there’s no more words, no more voice! And then you have to say goodbye to there face and put them in a hole for the rest of your life 😓 shit is real sad! Wish they kept Gwen alive and done a 3rd movie, both acted so good

Lewis Selders Andrew was never able to nail the awkwardness of Peter. Maybe if the age of the ‘Peter’ he played was a lot older than it would work but here it was post HS Peter who is still a young awkward version. He definitely hit on the mark as SpiderMan with all the witty comments

It was so good, it finally showed the darker and sadder part of Peter's story and all the crap he has to go through to keep people safe.

I feel like the Tom Holland version isn't deep enough, he has maybe one moment in each film where you even feel any emotional or physical conflict/struggle, and the nemesis' are kinda dumb sorry.
It's really good for seeing the fun, more animated part of him, I just felt there was too much comedic relief at times (just talking about the actual Spiderman movies, this does not include Avengers or other crossovers.)

Andrew's spiderman is boyish, but has to grow up so fast because of the responsibility.
I wish this movie series had been made at a time when they could have invested in it more and not so soon after Tobey's that all the fans were comparing it.

To everybody who have watched this movie and hated it. As a fan i understand your dilema and can tell u this movie is not perfect. Hell no movie is really perfect in my opinion. Although this was not that bad of a movie and foind it to be actually good compared to spiderman 3. I am a real spiderman ive read the comics since i was 13 and let me teel u they got most things right especially this scene with peter and gwen. I was one of the few of fans who cared for the original gwen stacy and not emma stone's even more fantastic portrayal. Emma stone was awesome as gwen and easily breathe more live and dimention to her charater so i thank god for someone like emma stone to remind me whyeter was originally gwen's first true love and not mj. Her death in the comics symbolized something it symbolized the innocent can be takin away from the hero and set them on a darker path. This is what happened to batman,punisher, daredevil, and even wolverine. People who have lost loved ones they loved more than this world and made them become dark and bitter. That is what happend to peter whe n goblin made him kill her by accident. Goblin had the murderous intent to kill gwen in order to get one on spidey. He suprisingly succeded showing that good guys can loose too.Gwen was peter's everything!! He loved that girl and wanted to marry her. Stan lee originally said he wanted to marry them off but fans favored maryjane because she had more personality. Gwem was boring to most fans and thought she was a pretty face.
