They made a name for themselves by consistently touring over the United States. Rather than signing with a known label, they initially decided to found their own, Chunksaah Records (named after their long-time friend Timmy Chunks), but are now releasing their albums on Epitaph Records.
The Bouncing Souls are one of the best selling and longest lived of the punk bands from New Jersey, following the legacy of previously successful punk bands Adrenalin OD and the Misfits.

Break Up Song
The Bouncing Souls Lyrics

Is all I heard her say
As I grabbed my stuff
And headed out the door
With my music in my phones
And my bike under my feet
Things started to look different
Sometimes I see her face
In the new people that I meet
We're not who we thought we were
When we saw this dream
Sometimes when I just can't sleep
I hear the words you said to me
"How did you get so deep inside of me?"
I wake up and I move on
I admit the past is gone
I wake up and I refine
Moving foward to the next lifetime
I leave it all behind
Sometimes when I just can't sleep
I hear the words you said to me
"Sometimes it takes a painful loss
To realize you are free"
How did you get so deep inside of me?
How did you get so deep inside of me?
The Bouncing Souls' Break Up Song is a reflective piece that takes a dive into the aftermath of a breakup. The lyrics express the aftermath effects and the gradual process of healing from the end of a relationship. The piece starts with the singer packing his things and leaving his ex-lover, who only utters "I don't want this anymore" to the singer. As he leaves, he puts on music and rides his bike away, hoping to move on.
The chorus then gives a glance at the psychological effects of the breakup. The singer claims that he still sees her face in new people he meets, showing that the pain of the relationship lingers on even as he tries to move on. He then contemplates the naive perspective they had when entering into the relationship, hoping and dreaming for a perfect union that didn't turn out as they hoped for.
In the second verse, he speaks about the process of coming to terms with the end of the relationship. The singer acknowledges that he still hears her voice at times, like when he can't sleep but claims to have left everything behind and moved on. He recognizes that the past is gone and he shouldn't dwell so much on it because there's always another chance to get it right, another lifetime to explore.
