1) Petra is a Christian Rock band formed in 1972 by Bob Hartman, Bill Glover, John DeGroff, and Greg Hough. "Petra" means "rock" in NT Greek, making the band name a triple pun. Rising from the Jesus music movement, and initially signed to [recordlabel]Myrrh Records[/recordlabel], they fought to gain acceptance and recognition in a church culture that at the time believed rock music to be off-limits. Over time they eventually won over most of their critics, thanks to a steady approach and some solid adult contemporary airplay hits like "The Coloring Song," outside of their usual rock fare. By the mid-80's, when lead singer Greg X. Volz left the band and was replaced by John Schlitt, Petra had solidified their place as the foremost Christian rock band in the industry with a string of hit albums and singles and strong touring. The release of Petra Praise: The Rock Cries Out marked a turn towards modern-sounding worship music that would soon explode into the modern worship movement.
Petra was nominated for and won numerous Grammy and Dove Awards. In 1991, after the release of their acclaimed Beyond Belief record, Petra became the first rock band ever to win for Group of the Year at the Dove Awards. They were also the first Christian rock band to be inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
For three decades Petra continued to produce albums despite changes in their line-up as well as the genre and market. On May 24th, 2005 Petra announced their retirement after 33 years of ministry. They recorded one of their final performances in Franklin, Tennessee to release it as their last album, Farewell. Their last performance finished in the early hours of January 1, 2006 in Murphy, North Carolina. Bob Hartman and John Schlitt continue to tour under the moniker II Guys From Petra.

Get Back To The Bible
Petra Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Joe Smith has seen Moroni
It's getting so a man can't tell
Who's real and who's a phony
Get back to the Bible
It's telling you the way to go
Jesus is the answer to everything you need to know
"Hare Krishna" may be fun to sing
But it ain't gonna get you to heaven
The only one who's gonna get you there
His number is a perfect seven
Get back to the Bible
It's telling you the way to go
Jesus is the answer to everything you need to know
Satan worship may be cool and hip
But when are you gonna learn?
There's a place that's set for you and him
Man, you know you're gonna burn
So get back to the Bible
It's telling you the way to go
Jesus is the answer to everything you need to know
Petra's song Get Back To The Bible is a strong message to believers to keep their focus on the Bible and Jesus Christ, and to not be swayed by false teachings and deceptions that lead people away from Him. The opening lines of the song refer to a man named Joe Smith, who claimed to have seen an angel, Moroni, leading to the creation of the Book of Mormon. The lyrics suggest that the Bible is the only reliable source for guidance on the path to salvation and that anything that deviates from the teachings of the Bible is not trustworthy.
The song also touches on other popular spiritual movements of the time, such as Hare Krishna and Satan worship, warning that they may seem appealing or intriguing, but ultimately lead to destruction. The lyrics emphasize that the only way to reach Heaven is through Jesus, whose number is referred to as a perfect seven. The song urges listeners to focus on Christ, rather than false teachings, and to read and follow the truth found in the Bible.

Hare Krishna in the Movies
Jesus is great, but the easiest way to get to Heaven is to get into the habit of chanting God's Holy Names, and the easiest way to do that is to chant the Hare Krishna Mantra, "Hare Krishna Hare Krishna/Krishna Krishna Hare Hare/Hare Rama Hare Rama/Rama Rama Hare Hare," a fixed number of times per day!

Lol jesus said hes the only way to god/heaven. Not Krishna and these other false gods created after ( real demonic beings) that man worships and false prophets. ... jesus is gods son who died on the cross taking your sin on his body becoming the sacrifice for all humanity being both god in flesh and gods son, that whoever calls on christ jesus ( not any other false god or false prophet) anyone who calls on christs name will be saved. God wants you turning from false gods and only come to 1 god the creator yaheh/ jehovah. And his son YESHUA ( jesus). Not false gods.
