In the end, life is a gamble. Its not long enough to deny yourself of all pleasures that you love. Especially with something that is as safe as anabolics, if this lifestyle is TRULY your passion, and if you chasing it would make your life many times better and more enjoyable for you!
Don't get me wrong, I'm against all hard drugs. We know the risk, we know the cost. But PLENTY of people have been able to use anabolics at an acceptable level and be just fine... but to get to the Mr. O level? yeah, that's going to knock some years of your life.
But I'd rather love my life for the majority of it and do what I love, versus living a much longer life that is shit, where I dread the start of every day.

Idk bro... I've had plenty of friends and clients be able to stop cycling, come off, etc -- and be totally fine. So long as they actually did PCT (HCG, Clomid, Nolva, etc -- so long as they didn't use a 19-nor) and got their Test to an acceptable level, they felt GREAT and did GREAT.
Don't get me wrong, they didn't feel as amazing as they did on anabolics, but they weren't over there freaking out and thinking life was over or something lol. Best way to explain it is if we're at 100% naturally, then on anabolics we're at 150%. Idk if makes sense though.
I've never had an issue with stopping a cycle or anything man.
If you've experienced what you just described, then YOU have an addiction issue. And btw, this isn't something to be ashamed of, people with addictions have been shown to have a difference with their brain versus people that do not. Its not a personality issue, its more of a chemical/brain issue (at least from my EXTREMELY LIMITED UNDERSTANDING - if anyone understands the science of it more - please go ahead and correct me/explain it to me so I can make sure I'm not saying a bunch of stupid shit that isn't true. I don't have time to verify everything, but I remember reading a few studies about this).
Don't get me wrong man, I'm sure there are PLENTY of people out there with a steroid addiction issue. But again, that doesn't mean its something everyone deals with, nor does that mean that even the MAJORITY of people deal with it. I'm sure if that is a serious issue (I have yet to see it to the extent you're saying bro [again, so long as PCT is done properly] - but I've also met people that were HARDCORE addicted to working out, and couldn't even fathom a single day out of the gym, so I have ZERO doubt that it exists).
I've been on the juice now for about 7 years, off and on. Taken as much time off as I wanted, and then had to get on TRT due to a botched surgery that ended up fucking with me due to some meds they had to put me on afterwards and shit. Only just now able to get back in the gym. I haven't cycled in several years due to that fucked surgery, and haven't really felt the need to (though I am ABSOLUTELY looking forward to it - if that makes sense. I just have had zero urges, etc). But I do count these last few years as "on" due to the TRT. Idk if you would count that though. But I would honestly prefer to not be on TRT man.
Anyways, I really hope anyone dealing with the sort of issues you're saying gets some help and figures the best way to come off and still have their Test levels and all be ok.
And some people will never have "acceptable" levels of Test again (be it naturally, and they were just on anabolics through the time that it would have dropped too low - or be it because the anabolics screwed his natural production and made it impossible for PCT to ever get him "normal" again concerning Test). And in those cases, they need to go on TRT.
But again - I've never seen anyone experience what you're discussing so long as they did PCT right and got their Test levels to where they needed to be and were acceptable.
