I played through pokemon yellow with a full fighting pokemon loadout except for a level 20 charmeleon. I kind of had to get used to it after listening to it for 30 minutes straight, trying to beat the ghosts with my pathetic charmeleon.

nope. It was one of my favourite songs in fr/ lg when i got them in 2017, and I geniunley think it fits the atmosphere of the town with a funeral vibe. If you dont know what I mean, listen to the bassline at 0:30.

This song is a brilliant piece of video game music. It's spooky, it's mysterious, yet it's also sort of calming and sad. It makes you think that the people of Lavender Town are strange and sinister, but it also makes you feel sorry for them. And the creators of this song did brilliantly with what they were given. I mean, nowadays you have brilliant musical computer programs that can record many different sounds, where back when this game was made, they just had that monotone, electronic sound.
