Porter formed in 2004, and consisted of Juan Carlos Pereda "Mussgo" (who now performs under the name Juan Son), Juan Pablo Vázquez "Chata", Víctor Valverde "Villor", Fernando de la Huerta "Fher" and Diego Rangel "Bacter". In 2005, the band issued its first realease, an EP called Donde Los Ponys Pastan, under the independent label 3er Piso. Singles Espiral and Daphne are both from this EP. Porter made it to the semi-finals of an indie rock band contest called "0-Music", with the song No Te Encuentro later that year. Their second release, and only long play album was Atemahawke, this being their most popular and acknowledged album. The only single from this album, Host of a Ghost, received substantial radio and TV play, as well as a music video. Porter achieved notable popularity on Mexican radio during their time together as a band, and played in important music festivals such as Vive Latino and Coachella, as well as opening for bands like Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Strokes. After a hiatus and various rumors of disbanding, they dissolved after playing the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California in 2008. Former vocalist Juan Son went on to pursue a career as a solo artist.

Bailando Con Mi Virginidad
Porter Lyrics

Es una mansión oscura, pero hermosa
Y estoy dejando el ácido atrás
Y estoy entrando en una especie de waltz
(Sola el agua te va a succionar)
Y estoy bailando con mi virginidad
Me despierto y el sol ya no está
The lyrics in Porter's song Bailando Con Mi Virginidad speak about leaving behind a life of excess and indulgence and embracing something more peaceful and pure. The singer talks about living on the 113th floor of a dark but beautiful mansion, which could symbolize the extreme heights of success and luxury they have achieved. However, the singer then admits to leaving behind their drug use and other wild behaviors and entering into a metaphorical waltz. This could represent a new way of living that is graceful and steady instead of reckless and out of control. The line "Sola el agua te va a succionar" translates to "Only the water will suck you in," which implies that the singer has experienced the dangers of indulging too much in substances and is now aware of the need for caution.
In the chorus, the singer declares that they are "dancing with their virginity," which could suggest a return to innocence or purity. The repetition of the line "Me despierto y el sol ya no está" at the end of the verse and chorus could represent a loss of time or youth, as the singer is realizing they cannot get back what they have wasted.
Overall, the lyrics convey a sense of reflection and change. The singer is acknowledging the pitfalls of their previous lifestyle and is now making an effort to live differently. The metaphorical language and ambiguous imagery add to the dream-like quality of the song, making it open to interpretation for different listeners.
