I'm a racist
Tuesday. . .
I'm a thief
Wednesday. . .
I'm a prostitute
But sunday I'll be saved
Fucked my neighbour. . .
Friday. . .
then his wife
Saturday. . .
a D.U.I
But Sunday I'll be saved
'Cause I believe in the things that you say
And I believe in the things that you do
I believe anything that you want me to
'Cause I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe in you
Go!
1
See me squander-
2
in my faith
3
I feel
4
nothing
cause Sunday I'll be saved
'Cause I believe in the things that you say
And I believe in the things that you do
I believe anything that you want me to
'Cause I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe in you
Go!
I'm a hypocrite
I'm a hypocrite
I'm a hip
Hippocratic piece of shit
Hypocrite
'Cause I believe in the things that you say
And I believe in the things that you do (repeat last 2 lines)
I believe anything that you want me to
'Cause I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe in you
I believe in you
Go!
The song "Go" by Powder is a self-reflective and ironic track that highlights the duality of human nature. The lyrics are written in a week-long sequence, where each day represents a different negative action or character flaw, followed by the contrasting saving grace of Sunday. The song seems to convey the idea that humans are inherently flawed and that their only hope of redemption lies in a higher power or belief system. The repeated line "Cause I believe in the things that you say, And I believe in the things that you do" emphasizes this blind faith in something greater than oneself, despite their imperfections.
The first half of the song depicts the singer's immoral actions, starting with racism on Monday, followed by theft on Tuesday, engaging in prostitution on Wednesday, sleeping with a neighbor on Thursday, and committing adultery on Friday. The patterns of negative behavior culminate in a DUI on Saturday. However, the song ends on a hopeful note as the singer professes their belief in a higher power and the possibility of salvation.
The second half of the song reveals the singer's hypocritical nature, calling themselves a "hippocratic piece of shit." The usage of the word "hippocratic" is a clever play on the word hypocrite, referring to the Hippocratic Oath that doctors take to uphold the moral principles of their profession. The singer seems to be acknowledging their flaws and shortcomings but is still relying on their faith and belief in a greater power to save them.
Overall, "Go" by Powder is a thought-provoking track that challenges the listener's perception of morality, faith, and redemption.

Epic guys. Love this song. Stumbled across Phil doing his demos looking for vintage Stratocaster videos one day, and wondered to myself how I'd not found this guy earlier. Thanks for the great music Phil, Powder, and the Drills, and keep those guitar demos coming!
