Razorlight is a four-piece consisting of Borrell (vocals & guitar), Björn Ågren (guitar), Carl Dalemo (bass) and Andy Burrows (drums)
Their debut album, Up All Night, was released on June 28, 2004, reaching number 3 in the UK album charts on 4 July. The critical reception was generally good, receiving good reviews from NME, Q magazine and Billboard, although they were also accused of lack of imagination and unoriginality for allegedly borrowing ideas from other influential bands, notably The Strokes. They appear to polarize opinion. NME wrote that the album: "bristles with passion, energy and, most importantly, amazing songs", while they were described elsewhere as "nearly everything wrong with rock and roll today". Their fans, though, embrace the music for its simple melodies and multi-layered, easy-going compositions.
Frontman Johnny Borrell caused some controversy and surprise when he likened himself to musical legend Bob Dylan, quipping "If Dylan's making the chips then I'm drinking the champagne". This led to suggestions of self-promotion. This statement was taken out of context however as Borrell was comparing his and Dylan's first albums, not their overall career. The band became very popular on the London music scene when they arrived earlier in the year. Large demand caused the band to play extra shows, including a 7,000+ capacity gig at Alexandra Palace. The album was heavily marketed in the UK.

I know who I am and I know what I'm not,
I know where I've been and I know what I've lost
But I can't stop this feeling I've got
Wasn't looking ahead and I heard
Didn't I see, didn't I learn
And I don't know what you mean to me
But I'm starting to think its just a mystery
I can't stop this feeling I've got,
I know who I am and I know what I'm not
I know where I've been and I know what I've lost
But I can't stop this feeling I've got
Wasn't looking ahead and I heard
Didn't I see, didn't I learn
I may be right you may disagree
But I'm starting to think its just a mystery
Whatever it is its just a mystery
Ah you don't really look so easy
You spend a lifetime looking for someone
And then they come and you're just so uneasy
You get the feeling that if I don't come
Then there's one more story be on your way
And I can't stop this feeling I've got,
I know who I am and I know what I'm not
I know where I've been and I know what I've lost
But I can't stop this feeling I've got
The scar before then see me split
You may say that isn't it
I may be right you may disagree
Same old story same old me
And I don't know what you mean to me
But I'm starting to think its just a mystery
I've got to admit its just a mystery
The lyrics of Razorlight's song "Stop" seem to focus on the unresolved emotions that the singer is experiencing. He is unable to decipher or make sense of the feelings that he has. The repetitious chorus of "I can't stop this feeling I've got, I know who I am and I know what I'm not, I know where I've been and I know what I've lost But I can't stop this feeling I've got" helps to reinforce this sentiment. The singer is tormented by these undefined emotions and appears to be struggling with his identity and purpose in life. He acknowledges that he has made mistakes in the past, but still can't fathom why he feels the way he does.
The second stanza adds further depth and meaning to the song, as the singer suggests that his attempts to understand his emotions may be futile. He is unsure of what the other person means to him, and wonders if it's all just a mystery that he may never solve. The third stanza represents the desire to be comfortable and settled with someone. However, the singer recognizes that this may not be possible, no matter how hard you try or search for it. The final chorus repeats the overall message of the song - that the feelings are just a mystery.
Overall, the lyrics of "Stop" appear to represent the struggle to comprehend what we feel, how we define ourselves and our place in the world. Despite acknowledging the past, there is a sense of confusion and restlessness in the present.

It is a travesty that this song and the rest of this album hasn't got millions of views. They came well before half moon run and others and we're groundbreaking in their sound and electric chords. They never got the recognition they deserved. This album was outstanding. Beautifully written songs and lyrics...

The fact that this song was released immediately after America, and that half of it sounds like the same chords and melody sped up, probably played against them. I mean sure, they're far from the first band to do this, but doing it in two consecutive singles is downright impudent.
