Let My Words Be Few
Rebecca St. James Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And here am I on earth
So I'll let my words be few
Jesus, I am so in love with You
And I'll stand in awe of You
Yes, I'll stand in awe of You
And I'll let my words be few
The simplest of all love songs
I want to bring to You
So I'll let my words be few
Jesus, I am so in love with You
The song "Let My Words Be Few" by Rebecca St. James is a simple yet powerful worship song that expresses the songwriter's love and admiration for Jesus. The opening lines acknowledge God's supremacy in heaven and the writer's humble position on earth. By saying "let my words be few," she recognizes the inadequacy of any words to describe God's greatness and majesty. The lyrics express a desire to stand in awe of God, to appreciate His love and grace, and to offer a simple, heartfelt love song in return.
The song's chorus repeats this concept, emphasizing the writer's desire to keep her words minimal and focus instead on standing in awe of Jesus. By avoiding elaborate displays of praise, the songwriter indicates that her heart is already full of love and adoration for Christ. She seeks to express that love in the simplest way possible, acknowledging that even the most eloquent words cannot fully capture the wonder of God's love.
This song is not only a tribute to Jesus but also an example of how worship can be both simple and profound. It's easy to get caught up in elaborate displays of musical or verbal praise, but "Let My Words Be Few" reminds us that sometimes the simplest expressions of love and awe are the most meaningful.
