Rotations
Reflections Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I have been here more than once before
These shapes are more than just spaces
To me
Its more of a psychological mind fuck

In the beginning, I could not tell
The difference from whats real
And what disintegrates
But now where I stand
I can see it all
From where I stand
I can see it all

Break these bonds
I fucking hate the way it sounds when you speak
Waiting for the day
You turn around so I can watch you
Go

My sanctum may be shattered into what used to be
I will make this balance sustain
My bonds may all be broken
The lifeless seeds in me
Hopefully it can set me free

Set me free

Bring me fourth unto
A place where the curtains
Never draw

Break this cycle
Be careful for we show no mercy

And I dont want this to be my home
Its all too familiar, this cant be home
I dont want this to be my home
Nothing ever changes
This cant be home

These lights are black
This Heaven is composed
By the Fallen

Take it all back

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Rotations by Reflections express feelings of confusion, frustration, and uncertainty towards a familiar space or environment. The singer has been here more than once before and sees shapes that are more than just physical spaces. It is a psychological mind fuck, indicating that the singer is dealing with more than just physical surroundings. The song is about the singer's desire to break free from his current situation, find balance, and change the cycle of his life.

The singer juxtaposes what is real and what disintegrates, demonstrating his inability to distinguish between them at the beginning of the song. The use of the word disintegrate indicates a sense of deterioration, destruction, and the crumbling away of what was once solid, further highlighting the singer's unease with his surroundings. However, as the song progresses, the singer can now see it all and understands what should be let go of and what must be held on to find balance.

The chorus is powerful, expressing the singer's desire to break free from his bonds and the familiarity of his surroundings. He wants to break the cycle of his life and be taken to a place where there is no curtain to draw. The use of "we show no mercy" highlights how life can be ruthless, and the singer is fighting it but is still cautious about it.

In conclusion, Rotations by Reflections is an introspective song that deals with breaking free from psychological bonds, finding balance, and breaking the cycle of life. The lyrics are potent and relatable, making it an excellent song for those who are struggling to find balance in their lives.

Thank you! I've been working on my vocals a lot since this album. Our new album has a lot more to show from all of us!

ExiaTreason

The outro is still one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. Period.

Shane Urbanavicius

They need to re-master this older stuff to match the quality of their new album. It still sounds incredible and I see what they were doing, but I think the emotional depth of these melodic symphonies near the end of some of these songs deserves more professional mixing to get the dreamy message across. I saw these guys live in Toronto some while ago, and since then I've been listening to all their songs I haven't heard... New favourite modern metal band. So good.
