Economies of scale, my friend. Real firearms are mass produced with machines, making their BOM and production costs lower. Most props are handmade in small quantities, thus are more expensive.

For $500, one can buy an actual legal firearm or customized airsoft pistol.

With enough skill and passion. Someone can carve the gun out of wood, paint, insert brass accents, magnets to achieve cylinder rotation, and reloading.

Poly resin is great, but can be damaged, if dropped, scuffed, or scratched.

3D printers will do this in just a few years for a fraction of this price. 500$ is a joke. (It's still my favorite weapon in the game, and I'll never forget how it first felt to shoot back in 2014....) the animation is second to none. ❤

Just get a magnum research 45-70 and dole it up to look like the last word. That way you have something that has weight weight to it and can actually fire a bullet. *the last words game model I believe was based off of the 45-70(they look really similar)
