OMG I remember this. My mother had this on an old 78rpm record.

The group is The Flairs. Earlier in his career, Richard Berry was their bass. Check out some of their sides on YouTube. Alsp check out “Riot On Cell Block No.9," where he sings lead with The Coasters.

I have a different take to this, on a Crown L. P.

Sounds like " Riot on cell block # 9 "

I got this 78 at the Kingston Artist Collective today. I played it on my 1926 Victor VV 8-4 Orthophonic Victrola for the first time and it sounds pretty darn good. I don’t have a problem of playing a 78 on a wind-up phonograph, but I don’t see any damage at all. I have not tried my 1923 Camp Fone yet since it’s in progress of resurrecting my portable wind-up phonograph. I got it last week in Catskill since it’s now a collector’s item.

Richard led the Robins on Riot in Cell Block#9 as a hired gun for Leiber & Stroller's new Spark label. Very similar but much rarer Big Break.
