This was the first presidential inauguration to be broadcast in color on all three networks (JFKโ€™s and LBJโ€™s were in color...but only if you were watching on NBC).

Hi, I'm currently writing an essay about Nixon's relationship with the media, could you give me a source for this information?

This is the 12th of 100 speeches that I'm watching to make research on public speaking. Now my goal is to get through all the inaugural addresses of the American presidents and rank them according to my own criteria. Mostly, I just rely on my intuition without doing any critical analysis of the speeches. I don't have a lot of time to process all the information, so if I like how this or that president looks and sounds I rank him high. All political rhetoric, words, and phrases play the second role in my evaluation, though I pay attention to the content to figure out mental states that were predominant among folks of those times.
Nixon has a good melodic voice, a steady pace, and clearly articulates everything he says. I find pleasure in listening to him, even though most of what he says doesn't make any sense. Just beautiful words with no meaning to entertain the crowd. By the way, an old woman blowing her nose in the background at the moment when Nixon proclaims, "We see the hope of tomorrow in the youth of today," was marvelously surreal and made me experience unity with humanity through a burst of intense laughter.

Beautifully written speech.

A very flawed and deeply insecure man, yes. But he was a good leader. He projected strength and confidence, and believed in America's progress .

Marc Schneider

And violated laws, killed millions of innocent people through bombing, interfered in peace negotiations that might have ended the Vietnam War much earlier strictly for partisan purposes, was involved in overthrowing freely elected governments. . If you call that projecting strength and confidence, well, I have to disagree. I agree he did some good things, but that's not the kind of leadership I think we need.

@Marc Schneider I'm not saying I disagree, but it is possible to project strength and confidence in doing wrong. Sometimes even more so in doing wrong can people be assured that what they are doing is right. The world is a cruel place, and Nixon was crushed in it for his wrongs.

President Nixon had several domestic and foreign policy achievements . Please people of America do not let Watergate overshadow this man.
