Róisín Murphy (pronounced roe-sheen) gained fame with Mark Brydon as the lead vocalist for UK electronic duo Moloko.
In addition to her work with Moloko, Murphy has contributed her vocals to the works of other artists including Handsome Boy Modeling School and Boris Dlugosch, for whom she sang on the track, Never Enough, which became a huge club hit.
After three additional albums and a remix project with Brydon, Murphy recorded her first official solo material in 2004 with producer Matthew Herbert, who had previously done remixes for Moloko. She released her debut album, Ruby Blue, in June 2005 in the UK on Echo Records. "Ruby Blue" produced two singles "If We're In Love" and "Sow Into You"

Her version of "Slave to Love" by Bryan Ferry is featured in the 2008 Gucci commercial starring actor James Franco. The single "Let Me Know" was produced by Groove Armada.
Overpowered produced four singles: "Overpowered," "Let Me Know," "You Know Me Better" and "Movie Star."
You Know Me Better

Long enough, baby
You know me
Only too well
I just thought someway I have to match you
So don't be defensive
No, no, don't try to pretend to
Have you ever known me
Bit too shy to jump in
But when it comes to you
I can't win
'Cause you know me better than I know myself
You know me better than I know myself
You know me the best
You know me better than I know myself
You know what to expect
Understand it
Nobody understands you
The way that I can
Let's see this thing through
One thing remaining
Things will never be the same again
After tonight
So let's get down to it
This thing is getting stronger and stronger
When you did take it further
I can't wait no longer of waiting my turn
I've waited in line
How long have I known you
Not in all this time been untrue
I think I'm rolling free
Let me see this through
You know me better than I know myself
You know me better than I know myself
You know me the best
You know me better than I know myself
You know what to expect
You know me better than I know myself
You know me the best
You know me better than I know myself
How many years can we keep going on this way
(i believe)
Too afraid to??? And stay
Though I believe the friendship can survive
(i believe)
Maybe it won't if we do or we don't
You know me better than I know myself
You know me the best
You know me better than I know myself
You know what to expect
You know me better than I know myself
You know me the best
You know me better than I know myself
You know what to expect
You know me better than I know myself
You know me better than I know myself
You know me better than I know myself
You know me better than I know myself
You know what to expect
The song "You Know Me Better" by Róisín Murphy is about a passionate love affair between two people who know each other intimately. The lyrics suggest that the couple has been friends for a long time, but have never acted upon their feelings until now. The first verse introduces the idea that the wait is finally over, and that the singer's lover knows her well enough to understand what she wants. The chorus repeats the phrase "You know me better than I know myself" four times, emphasizing the deep connection between the two lovers.
The second verse hints at the fact that the singer may have been hesitant to pursue the relationship in the past, due to shyness or fear of rejection. However, now that she is with her lover, she feels that he knows her better than anyone else ever has. The bridge of the song is a plea to the lover to stay with her, despite any obstacles that may arise. The final chorus repeats the main message of the song, that the lover knows the singer's deepest desires and fears, and that their connection is unbreakable.
Overall, "You Know Me Better" is a celebratory tribute to deep and lasting love, as well as to the power of true friendship to evolve into something more. The song's pulsing beat and Murphy's strong vocals convey the passion and energy of the couple's newfound intimacy, making it a powerful expression of love and desire.
