War Zone
Rob Zombie Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Yeah, one quick move, exploding flesh and brain
Then a little move from a bleeding heart
Suddenly flames burning through your eyes
Bullet meet skull, meet the end of your life, yeah

In the war zone
I stand alone
In the war zone
I die alone

Yeah, I spot a crack nearer on a jigsaw face
Blood and knuckles roar on a muzzle flash
Another day in hell and she's the same
The skull will punish all that will survive

In the war zone
I stand alone
In the war zone
I die alone

You can't see me
You can't stop me
You can't kill me

You can't see me
You can't stop me
You can't kill me

In the war zone
I stand alone
In the war zone
I die alone

You can't see me
You can't stop me
You can't kill me

You can't see me

You can't stop me
You can't kill me

Overall Meaning

Rob Zombie's song War Zone paints a vivid picture of a battlefield, a place of violence and chaos where death is always around the corner. The lyrics tell the story of a soldier standing alone and facing death on a daily basis. The atmosphere is tense, and the imagery is graphic, with lines like "exploding flesh and brain" creating a sense of horror and dread. The soldier is described as having a "bleeding heart" but also being capable of violence, as they seem to be both the victim and the executioner, with "bullet meet skull, meet the end of your life, yeah".

The chorus of the song repeats twice, with the soldier standing alone in the war zone and ultimately dying alone. The repetition of these lines creates a sense of hopelessness and despair, highlighting how the soldier's fate is sealed, despite their strength and determination. The final lines of the song, "You can't see me, you can't stop me, you can't kill me", seem to be a defiance against an unstoppable force, showing the soldier's courage and resilience in the face of death.

I don't understand why this movie didn't do better in the box office. It's a damn near perfect representation of the Punisher Maxx series - friggin brutal as all hell.

Daniel Navarro

because it's cheesy af

Numaan Tahir

I think because it was released in December of all times and there wasn't much marketing for the movie aside from a couple of trailers.

Billy Lenz

Because the acting and the dialogue is piss poor.

Dean St. John

No clue. Garth Ennis' Punisher was always my favorite. Few can write like he did for Punisher Max, and Punisher Born.

Vincent McManus

@Billy Lenz Still better than Dolph Lundgren's attempt at the character.
Besides, if you read Punisher Maxx, you'd see that the dialogue, characters, and acting were actually pretty spot-on.
The film did a great job for folks like me who wish movies were more like their comic book counterparts.
