Van Daal volgde geen muziekopleiding en had na zijn middelbare school verschillende baantjes. Uiteindelijk werd hij dj in een Brabants café wat het begin van zijn muzikale loopbaan was. Hij werd daar omdat hij ook zelf de microfoon als zanger ter hand nam spoedig bekend als De zingende barkeeper. Hij kreeg een contract bij platenmaatschappij Berk en kon hier Nederlandstalig repertoire opnemen wat hij zelf schreef. Hij werd vooral bekend door zijn singles Ik wil een kus en In dat kleine cafeetje. Hij zingt naast eigen repertoire ook covers van andere Nederlandstalige liederen zoals Nathalie (origineel René Riva - C'est la vie). Van Daal is ook een carnavalzanger met liedjes als Hé trut en Ik ben het noorden kwijt.
