Wish Schenker had a full time singer this good....and I wish he did this style of bluesy kick ass tune more often, but I still love him. Going to see Trower again soon for the 3rd time.....just killer.

Yeah, when these cane out, I was like GOING INSANE! I thought Layla and While My Guitar Gently Weeps were the two standouts (But that's cuz those are two of my favorite songs ever), but EVERY SONG KILLS. How about his solo on "I Got The Fire?" He's FUCKING SOARING MAN, FLYIN' LIKE A FUCKIN' HURRICANE! That's why I saw him Feb 26 in San Diego and I'm goin' to see him again next Saturday! I'm closing in on 60 live Schenker shows, and EVERY SINGLE TIME, there comes a point when I lose my damn mind!

I really enjoy both albums they did...Pattison is great vocalist. That old bluesy edge. He fits right in w/ Trower. Love Schenkers playing on both of these cd;s...Hope he does more.

Love the way Schenker doesn't overplay anything on this song. Let's the groove wander and burrow its way under your skin into the pit of your stomach.....and just viibbbrrrrrattte so nicely. Great tribute to the monster talent that was and is Robin Trower. Used to play this song as a "Nightcap" to calm down after a wild night out on the town, driving home in my 1973 Buick GS-455, high output...... memories.....thanks for posting!

What a trip, I did the same thing. I had a yellow 1972 GS-455. Convertible. Never wish i had sold it in 84. Went to many concerts in that car,including a few of Robins and UFO.

Schenker has such a command of the fretboard. You never hear him play the same phrase twice. Not many guitar players you can say that about.

Wow this is incredible! UFO was the first band I ever saw live, on their "Force It" tour. They played an old song "Buttercup" & Schenker played all these cool blues riffs on it. I always wanted to hear him play more in that vein. He doe's it here....Thanx for sharing!!! :)

I know they recorded Bad Company's 'Rock Steady', but I wonder if Schenker/Pattison covered any Free songs? I would be really interested to hear that. For me, the Rodgers/Kossoff combination is my favourite voice/guitar combination of all; soulful and just made for each other. I would have thought that Schenker/Pattison would do a fine job with songs such as 'Wishing Well', 'Fire And Water' or 'Moonshine'.

Okay adding a bit more of a comment. I hear Shenker playing this so solid but I also hear him playing some other guitar signature sound on the 2"50 and on solo parts. I might be wrong but I think I hear a bit of Steve Vai in there, am trying to figure out where I have heard that signature whaaa sound. If any one can elaborate I would much like to hear from you.

@yumberri Not at all. I love a good prog drummer like Neil Peart or Bill Bruford. Just think a song like this depends on the groove the bass and drums lay down, and sometimes too much going on clutters it up. Especially in bluesy rock.

Ansley Dunbar was also the original Drummer for Journey. I think that he and the original guys from Journey used to be in Carlos Santana's band in the very early days. For the doubters, Ansley was going nuts at the top of this song, but he settled into a righteous 4-count for the outro. Ansley Rocks and this is one tight band!
