She was born in Chipiona, Cádiz, Spain and was nicknamed "The Greatest".
Jurado began performing flamenco at a very young age, debuting on the big screen in 1962 with "Los guerrilleros", acting alongside Manolo Escobar. She also played a main role in 1966's "Proceso a una estrella" and 1971's "Una chica casi decente". While temporarily living in Argentina, the Spanish diva participated in a successful musical called "La zapatera prodigiosa", based on Federico García Lorca's work. Esta tan claro
Rocio Jurado Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
De todas las fechas
Y conservas
Un museo de amor.
Tienes fotos
Amarillas de pena,
Congeladas escenas que el tiempo envejece,
Tú te alegras
Cuando hay un problema
Porque piensas
Que nos une a los dos.
A tu modo,
No me sirven
Tus caricias expertas,
En tu boca
Hay solo una prisión.
Solo quiero
The song "Esta Tan Claro" by Rocio Jurado is about two people in a relationship, one of whom remembers every date and holds onto memories in a museum of love, while the other is more focused on living in the present moment. The first person has photos and frozen scenes that have aged over time, while the second person doesn't collect things, but instead values the experience of being with their partner. There is a disconnect between the two, with the first person being resigned to the idea that love fades after thirty and is only an illusion, while the second person is committed to their love and their partner.
The song portrays a sense of frustration and dissatisfaction on the part of the second person who wants to be seen for who they are and not just as an object of love. They are tired of being objectified and want to be appreciated for their true self. This is evident in the lines "No me sirven tus caricias expertas, en tu boca hay solo una prisión.
The song touches on the themes of memories, collecting and cherishing moments, insecurities, and the importance of being seen for who we truly are in relationships.
