Stewart's music career began in 1962 when he took up busking with a harmonica. In 1963, he joined The Dimensions as a harmonica player and vocalist. In 1964, Stewart joined Long John Baldry and the All Stars before moving to the Jeff Beck Group in 1967. Joining Faces in 1969, he also maintained a solo career releasing his debut album that year. Stewart's early albums were a fusion of rock, folk music, soul music, and R&B. His third album, 1971's Every Picture Tells a Story, was his breakthrough, topping the charts in the UK, US, Canada and Australia, as did its ballad "Maggie May". His 1972 follow-up album, Never a Dull Moment, also reached number one in the UK and Australia, while going top three in the US and Canada. Its single, "You Wear It Well", topped the chart in the UK and was a moderate hit elsewhere.
After Stewart had a handful more UK top ten hits, the Faces broke up in 1975. Stewart's next few hit singles were ballads with "Sailing", off the 1975 UK and Australian number-one album, Atlantic Crossing, becoming a hit in the UK and the Netherlands (number one), Germany (number four) and other countries, but barely charting in North America. A Night on the Town (1976), his fifth straight chart-topper in the UK, began a three-album run of going number one or top three in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia with each release. That album's "Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)" spent almost two months at number one in the US and Canada, and made the top five in other countries. Foot Loose & Fancy Free (1977) contained the hit "You're in My Heart (The Final Acclaim)" as well as the rocker "Hot Legs". Blondes Have More Fun (1978) and its disco-tinged "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" both went to number one in Canada, Australia and the US, with "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" also hitting number one in the UK and the top ten in other countries. Stewart's albums regularly hit the upper rungs of the charts in the Netherlands throughout the 70s and in Sweden from 1975 onward.
After a disco and new wave period in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Stewart's music turned to a soft rock/middle-of-the-road style, with most of his albums reaching the top ten in the UK, Germany and Sweden, but faring less well in the US. The single "Rhythm of My Heart" was a top five hit in the UK, US and other countries, with its source album, 1991's Vagabond Heart, becoming, at number ten in the US and number two in the UK, his highest-charting album in a decade. In 1993, he collaborated with Bryan Adams and Sting on the power ballad "All for Love", which went to number one in many countries. In the early 2000s, he released a series of successful albums interpreting the Great American Songbook.
In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked him the 17th most successful artist on the "Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists". A Grammy and Brit Award recipient, he was voted at No. 33 in Q Magazine's list of the Top 100 Greatest Singers of all time. As a solo artist, Stewart was inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006, and he was inducted a second time into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 as a member of Faces.

I just close my eyes and I'm with you
And all that I so want to give you
It's only a heart beat away
When I need love
I hold out my hand and I touch love
I never knew there was so much love
Miles and miles of empty space in between us
A telephone can't take the place of your smile
But you know I won't be traveling forever
It's cold out but hold out and do like I do
When I need you
I just close my eyes and I'm with you
And all that I so want to give you baby
It's only a heart beat away
It's not easy when the road is your driver
Honey that's a heavy load that we bear
But you know I won't be traveling a lifetime
It's cold out so hold out and do like I do
When I need you
When I need love
I hold out my hands and I touch love
I never knew there was so much love
keeping me warm night and day
When I need you
I close my eyes
I hold out my hand and I've got you darlin'
It's only a heart beat away
Now listen
When I need you darlin'
I hold you, feel ya
Give it to me baby
And I miss ya baby
Just close my eyes and I'm with you
And I need you tonight
You know it's only a heart beat away
The song "When I Need You" by Rod Stewart is a beautiful love ballad that talks about the strength of love and the longing for one's partner in their absence. The song is sung from the perspective of someone who is away from their loved one and misses them dearly. The lyrics suggest that despite the distance and the lack of physical presence, the person can still feel their partner's love and closeness.
The first verse describes the feeling of being close to the loved one even in their absence. The person just needs to close their eyes, and they feel the presence of their partner. The lyrics show the depth of the love and the strong emotional bond that exists between them. The second verse talks about the power of love to keep the person warm day and night. The lyrics suggest that the love they share is a strong force that can transcend distance and time.
The chorus repeats the phrase "When I need you" and emphasizes the longing and the desire for the partner's presence. The lyrics acknowledge the difficulty of being apart and the sacrifices that are required for the relationship. However, the song encourages the person to hold out and stay strong in the hope of reuniting with their loved one.
Overall, the song conveys a message of love and hope, and it is a testament to the power of love to overcome distance and hardship.

I can tell by your eyes
That you've probably been crying forever
And the stars in the sky don't mean nothing
To you, they're a mirror
I don't wanna talk about it
How you broke my heart
If I stay here just a little bit longer
If I stay here, won't you listen to my heart?
Oh, my heart
If I stand all alone
Will the shadows hide the colors of my heart?
Blue for the tears, black for the night's fears
The stars in the sky don't mean nothing to you
They're just a mirror
I don't wanna talk about it
How you broke my heart
If I stay here just a little bit longer
If I stay here, won't you listen to my heart?
Oh, my heart

@@saluamokayad2518 Eu posso dizer pelos seus olhos
Que você provavelmente
Chorando desde sempre,
E as estrelas no céu
Não significa nada para você,
Eles são um espelho.
Eu não quero falar sobre isso,
Como você quebrou meu coração.
Se eu ficar aqui um pouco mais,
Se eu ficar aqui,
Você não vai ouvir meu coração, uau, coração?
Se eu ficar sozinho,
A sombra se esconderá
A cor do meu coração;
Azul pelas lágrimas,
Preto para os medos da noite.
A estrela no céu
Não significa nada para você,
Eles são um espelho.
Eu não quero falar sobre isso,
Como você quebrou meu coração.
Se eu ficar aqui um pouco mais,
Se eu ficar aqui,
Você não vai ouvir meu coração, uau, coração?
Eu não quero falar sobre isso,
Como você partiu esse velho coração.
Se eu ficar aqui um pouco mais,
Se eu ficar aqui,
Você não vai ouvir meu coração, uau, coração?
Meu coração, uau, coração.h
