His first project was Beat!Beat!Beat!, an indie teenage band where he was the drummer. Years later the band separated and he became a soloist.
He then released his acclaimed debut EP 'Elliot' in 2013. The lead single 'Elliot' was named as Pitchfork's 'Best New Track'. Roosevelt then released the double-A side 'Night Moves/Hold On' in 2015 on Greco-Roman which continued a warm synth-pop, Balearic-influenced sound.
In April 2016, he announced his self-titled debut album, set for release on August 19, 2016 on Greco-Roman/City Slang, with the video for tracks "Colours" and "Moving On".
He has remixed the likes of Glass Animals, Jax Jones, Truls, Sundara Karma, Luka Vasta and Kakkmaddafakka, and on tour has supported Hot Chip, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Crystal Fighters.
In June 2018, he announced a second album 'Young Romance', it was released on September 28, 2018. The first single from this album 'Under The Sun' was released on June 27, 2018.

Roosevelt Lyrics

I know your heart Is out to run,
If only I could see the time,
But now I'm bleeding by your side
Take us back into the sun,
I know your heart Is out to run,
If only I could see the time,
Take us back into the sun,
I know your heart Is out to run,
If only I could see the time,
But now I'm bleeding by your side
Take us back into the sun,
I know your heart Is out to run,
If only I could see the time,
But now I'm bleeding by your side
The lyrics of Roosevelt’s song Soleil are short and repetitive, with only a few lines repeated several times throughout the track. The opening line, "Take us back into the sun," is a clear indication of the singer's desire to return to a simpler and happier time. It's possible that they are reflecting on past experiences and memories, longing for a time when their relationship was less complicated.
The next line, "I know your heart is out to run," suggests that there is conflict within the relationship, and that one of the individuals is struggling to commit fully. This idea is reinforced in the following line, "If only I could see the time," indicating that the singer wishes they could turn back time and prevent the relationship from reaching this point.
Finally, the repeated line "But now I'm bleeding by your side" suggests that the relationship has taken a toll on the singer, leaving them wounded and struggling. It's possible that the repeated lines throughout the song represent the singer's futile attempts to fix the relationship and find their way back to a happier place.
Overall, the lyrics of Soleil are a poignant reflection on the complexities of love and relationships, and the ups and downs that come with them.
