Royal Teeth is a happy accident. On a whim, the New Orleans-based band started incorporating samples and electronics to its indie vibe. Though this sounds mainstream, the band catches audiences off-guard with its memorable male and female vocal hooks.
More than ever, the band has cemented its stylistic sound. Before, the lineup changed from show-to-show. Now, the six members are set, ready for royalty.

Debut Album - "Glow" (2013)
After signing with Dangerbird Records, Royal Teeth released their long awaited debut album Glow on August 13th 2013, featuring 11 tracks.
American Idol appearance (2014)
On March 20th 2014, the band appeared on American Idol on the Fox network in the US, where they performed their breakout single "Wild". The track had featured as one of NPR’s Austin 100 to preview SXSW 2014.

The lyrics to Royal Teeth's song, "Waiting Here For You," speak to the struggle of waiting for someone or something that may never come. The singer describes everyday choices - to either try to revive something that's dead or put on a facade of happiness and dance through the pain. The confusion and uncertainty of life is apparent in the next line, as the singer doesn't know where their life is headed and wants it back. They describe sleeping alone, losing light and time being slow, emphasizing the loneliness and stagnation they feel in their wait.
The second verse elaborates on the waiting theme, describing making the same mistakes over and over again until the night (when the waiting recommences). The singer is holding on to someone when they're there, but when they're gone, they need that presence desperately. The other person is portrayed as someone who always sets things right for the singer, but when they're not around, time moves slowly.
