Musician and composer Tom Perrett set out to create music purely to taste which led to Ruadh's existence, the name translates to "red". Tom was born and raised in one of the oldest Burghs in Scotland which translates to "The red glen"
The derivation of the name of the town is unclear but one theory is that the area was once a settlement of Reuther, an ancient king of the Scots, who ruled between 213 and 187 BC.
After signing a worldwide deal with respected German label Northern Silence Productions, the debut album “Sovereign” is due to be released physically and digitally on 12.04.19.
Waiting
Ruadh Lyrics

And lay on the field
And wait for death to to take me
Away from here
My heart is beating in my chest
Like the drums of war drawing near
Bringing winds of change to us all
This mortal flesh will wither as my soul soars through the ages
Ancient land beneath my feet, guide me past the veil of mortality
Into a promised sleep where I can rest
The land beyond awaits me now
The sun falls beneath the trees
Autumn leaves line my path
And mountains carry me
I will become one with the land
From the soil to sea
I am waiting here, waiting for the end to comfort me
Will we be remembered
Will our deeds ring through the ages
Or will our defeat spell the end of our kind
With the strength of will, an oath made from youth
To carry our way of life like a torch that never dies
These hills are part of me
These mountains and rivers that run so deep
Carrying our history
I feel a longing in my soul
To return to better days
But night has fallen and taken the dawn away
The land beyond awaits me now
The sun falls behind the trees
Autumn leaves line my path
And mountains carry me
I will become one with the land
From the soil to sea
I am waiting here, waiting for the end to comfort me
Crows circle overhead, I feel a chill in the air
My breathe becomes laboured
I see beyond this life to a place where sun still shines
My soul is now free
I'll run wild with the deer with a beating heart so clear
Like the strength of this place we will not fail
Stand outside in the morning breeze the sounds of pipes carry on the wind
The lyrics of the song "Waiting" by Ruadh depict the surrender of oneself to nature and the inevitability of death. The singer is lying on the field, waiting for death to take him away from the worldly affairs. He hears the beating of his heart, like the drums of war drawing near, signifying the approaching demise. The singer's soul yearns to connect with nature and the land he has walked his entire life. He hopes to transcend beyond the veil of mortality into a promised sleep where he can rest, becoming one with the land from the soil to sea. The lyrical references to crows circling overhead and feeling a chill in the air provide a gothic, eerie touch to the song.
The lyrics also delve into the question of whether the singer's deeds would be remembered or forgotten after death. The singer questions whether their defeat would spell the end of their kind or not. The song emphasizes the idea of carrying on one's way of life and history as a torch that never dies. The singer feels a calling to return to better days, but darkness prevails, bringing the inevitability of death closer to him. He sees beyond this life to a place where the sun still shines, and his soul is now free, running wild with deer. Finally, the song ends with the singer standing outside in the morning breeze, listening to the ethereal sounds of pipes, signifying the cyclical nature of life.

They should flesh out the growls a bit, maybe turn it down a bit because I feel they almost dominate the music.
As for the atmospheric part, not sure if this one intentional, but turn up the vocals please, because I really dig it. The voice reminds me of John Haughm from Agalloch/Pillorian (getting Ashes Against the Grain vibes) or even Alcest.

It sounds like it was recorded in the Tower of London
