Esku Biak
Ruper Ordorika Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Esku batekin esan dizut:"Agur,
Nahi duzun arte!"
Beste eskuaz ez dut jakin zer egin, ai,
Zeu itzuli arte.

Beste eskuaz ez dut jakin zer egin, ai,
Zeu itzuli arte.
Eskuineko esku honek deitu dizu
Telefonoz,

Eta ezkerrak ere maite-
Maite zaitu.
Ez, ez dira eskuok zugatik
Egundo etsaitu...

Ezkerraz leihoa zabaldu, eskuinaz
Kafea hartu.
Ezkerraz gitarra heldu eta eskuinaz
Soinu leun batzuk lotu.

Ezkerrak, erlojua erakutsiz, ez dit
Denbora arindu.
Esku biak behar ditut zeu hartzeko.
Zeure esku

Sentitzen naiz, zu maitatzeko.
Eskuak,
Biak luzatuko zaizkit zu laztantzeko...

Esku biak behar ditut
Zeu hartzeko.

Esku biak libre ditut
Zeuretzako.

Overall Meaning

In Ruper Ordorika's song Eskubiak (Hands), the singer seems to be addressing someone who is leaving, saying goodbye, and expressing that they don't know what they will do with their other hand until they see them again. The singer admits that they don't know what to do with their other hand when the person they are speaking to is gone. The person on the right hand is someone the singer has called on the phone, and they love both their right and left hands equally. The singer also acknowledges that the person they're talking to has enemies who hate them because of who they are, and the singer supports the person regardless of what their enemies say or do.

As the person leaves, the singer opens the window to the left and takes a coffee with their right hand. They grab their guitar with their left hand, and the sounds that the guitar make up for the emptiness created by the absence of the person. The singer then mentions how they continue to look at the clock on their left hand, but time seems to have stopped for them until the person returns. The singer talks about holding hands with them because it is a way for the singer to feel connected to the person they have affection for. The hands will always belong to the person, but the singer wants to borrow them to comfort them.
