My mother was very sick when this first came out, suffering from some very bad effects of liver cirrhosis at the time, and she was in and out of the hospital and very hard to take care of.  When I had some free time to myself, I would often just sit my character in some pretty area overlooking that main river running through the zone, over the waterfalls, and just listen to the music to unwind.  Every now and then, I'll boot up that character just to fly back to that same spot and listen to this.  To this day, hearing this music brings me to a peaceful place mentally that helps me unwind some, and I can see that serene river below me.

Man.... Could you stop cutting onions... :(

@Kestrel029

I remember this music in full flow as my character watched wild mustang's roam the area.

Peace be with you.

@sobe762

Good stuff. Peace be with you my friend.

@Okay. Hey there my friend. Unfortunately she passed away a year and a half ago due to complications of liver disease. Was driving several states away to get there when it went downhill and missed her passing by two hours. She was fine and then everything just kinda failed within 48 hours. Was a rough time, but I still come back to this song to remember better times. C'est la vie, I suppose.

Listening to this piece now reminds me of my old friend and guildie. I knew her for years, but only knew her by her toon name. She liked to keep her online life separate from offline because of a bad experience in her past, but I considered her a real friend. Three years ago, a couple of other friends from the guild told me she had Stage 4 melanoma, detected purely by accident. I chatted with her on our forums for a while (during Mists of Pandaria; I stopped playing). The same friends told me that she'd been rushed to the hospital later that summer. No one has heard anything from her since. We are pretty certain she died. Her prognosis was not good, and it is just not like her to fail to be in touch or pop up in game. I wish I could contact her family to tell them how much we liked and respected her, how much her online friendship meant to us all. We raided all the way through this entire expansion together, from our first feeble attempts at Archavon to our Lich King kill. The game, and Northrend, will always make me think of her.

I've had so many friends like that over the years. Close connections, deep conversations, with that wall of unreality between us. Nevertheless, the fondness, the kinship, the real love for another, persists. Sometimes, they have been the one to mysteriously disappear. Other times, it was me. People can trash WoW for a thousand different mechanical reasons, but it's the humanity... toonanity? that keeps me interested. (The only thing keeping me out of the game right now is technology. Need a new PC.)

Beautiful scenery of Grizzly Hills and Howling Fjord. Now, like many of the veteran WoW players, I'm resting in my warm home and doing casual things, taking care of my beloved ones and listening to this piece... Cheers to you and it was an honor to play with you all.

A friend of mine died a few months ago. We used to play wow alot together. Like only us two. I haven't played the game since he died. He looked forward to the new expansion Legion. Our prime time was when wotlk was the current expansion. This song reminds me so much of those days and him. I'd like to think that he is in Azeroth somewhere, waiting for me to join him. Miss you Daniel <3 Saknar dig
