In April 2013, Taylor signed to 4AD. His first release through 4AD, Bloodflows, reached #1 on the Amazing Radio chart. In September, follow up track Lessons was released with an Olivier Groulx-directed, Dazed & Confused-premiered music video. In April 2014, debut album Tremors was released with lead single Artifice. The album charted in several European countries and received favorable reviews.
After temporarily trading Vienna for Northern California, SOHN spent several months alone writing and recording the ten tracks which form his sophomore LP 'Rennen' (January 2017). The album was preceded by 'Signal' and 'Conrad'.
Along with his own work, Taylor has also worked with other artists - writing and producing Banks's Alibi and Waiting Game, remixing Lana Del Rey's Ride, and producing songs on Rita Ora's new album.
Paralysed
SOHN Lyrics

Throat blocked by air tonight
Twisted intestines
Reminding me that it's not alright
And you have hold on me
And my arms are locked by my side
A two-word apology
I'm paralysed
I'm paralysed
Nobody can slit my throat
Nobody can leave me lying by the side of the road like you can
Nobody can slit my throat
Nobody can leave me lying by the side of the road like you can
Nobody can slit my throat
Nobody can leave me lying by the side of the road like you can
Like you can
Like you can
Nobody
Can do it like you can
Nobody
The lyrics of SOHN’s song “Paralysed” evoke a sense of anxiety and fear, capturing the feeling of being trapped in a destructive relationship. The first verse describes physical symptoms of this anxiety - a heart in the stomach, throat blocked by air, and twisted intestines. The bodily sensations serve as a metaphor for the emotional turmoil of the situation, emphasizing the palpable sense of dread and unease that the singer feels.
The chorus reveals that another person is the source of this anxiety, as they have a hold on the singer that renders them paralyzed. The “two-word apology” suggests that the person has recognized their wrongdoing, but the damage has already been done. The repetition of “I’m paralyzed” emphasizes the singer’s helplessness, implying that they feel unable to escape the toxic relationship or make any change.
The second verse further reinforces the power dynamic at play, with the repeated phrase “nobody can slit my throat, nobody can leave me lying by the side of the road like you can.” This emphasizes the danger and the pain that the relationship has caused, as well as the sense that the person has a unique power to hurt the singer in a way nobody else can.
Overall, the song captures the debilitating impact that a toxic relationship can have on an individual, both physically and emotionally, and the difficulty of breaking free from it.
