1) Songwriter/performer Samantha James has spent the past five years honing her estimable skills as a modern-day singer/songwriter within the dance/electronic/soul genre. Her sultry style, vocal cadences, and international rhythms are largely influenced by such artists as Sade, Basia, Amel Larrieux, Bebel Gilberto and Morcheeba.
On her debut album “Rise” for San Francisco based indie label Om Records, Samantha teamed up with producer and co-writer Sebastian Arocha Morton—AKA ROCAsound (Sting, Vikter Duplaix, Fischerspooner, Fila Brazilia and Rick James for the classic finale’ of the hit film Little Miss Sunshine.)
A native of Los Angeles’ Topanga Canyon where she currently resides, James is the grand daughter of Emmy Award-winning composer/conductor David Rose. James’ lyrics resonate with the pain of lost relationships and joy of loving connections.
“Samantha has a unique and strong sense of style as a both a songwriter and performer”, enthuses Arocha Morton. “Talented, beautiful, passionate, and dedicated… Samantha James is the real thing—as both recording artist and stage performer. She is a welcome and beautiful new face in the world of dance-electronic music.”

Step into my room
Tell me how you feel
When sinking to the mood
If you want to be the reason
I can be the answer
We can stand together, baby
Let the rhythm take you
Where you want to go
Listen to the melody
Let it take control
If you wanna be the reason
I can be the answer
We can stand together, baby
Walk the world forever
I want to feel you
I want to taste the world we've found
I want to feel you
I want to breathe you in right now
Give yourself to me, baby
Listen to a song
Let the music take us
As we move along
If you wanna be the reason
I can be the answer
We can stand together, baby
Walk the world together
It's driving
('Round)
('Round)
Don't stop
I want to feel you
I want to taste the world we've found
I want to feel you
I want to breathe you in right now
I want to feel you
I want to taste the world we've found
I want to feel you
I want to breathe you in right now
With you
In my life
We can find
The world together
With you
In my life
We can find
The world together
The world together
The world together
The world together
Find the world together
I want to feel you
I want to taste the world we've found
I want to feel you
I want to breathe you in right now
I want to feel you
I want to taste the world we've found
I want to feel you
I want to breathe you in right now
Feel you
Breathe you in
Feel you
Breathe you in
Feel you

The lyrics of Samantha James's "Breathe You In" are centered around the concept of being deeply connected and united with someone, as well as letting oneself get lost in music. The opening lines invite the listener to immerse themselves in the song and the mood created by it, expressing a desire to share that sensation with someone else. The following lines offer a proposal to stand together, to remain united in the face of challenges, and the repeated phrase "Let the rhythm take you where you want to go" emphasizes the idea of letting go and surrendering control to the music. Throughout the song, the repeated desire to "feel you" and "breathe you in" expresses a deep emotional and physical connection with someone else, while the final verses invoke the idea of finding the world together. The song ultimately encourages the listener to indulge in the pleasure of music and to allow themselves to be fully present and connected to the world and those around them.
