Before I Fall In Love
Sarah Geronimo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Can I trust the way I feel
'Cause my heart's been fooled before
Am I just seeing what i want to see
Or is it true, could you really be
Someone to have and hold
With all my heart and soul
Someone who'll stay around
Through all my ups and downs
Please tell me now, before I fall in love
I'm at the point of no return
So afraid of getting bumed
But I want to take a chance
Please, give me a reason to believe
Say, that you're the one, that you'll always be
It's been so hard for me to give my heart away
But I would give my everything,
Just to hear you say (you're)
The lyrics in Sarah Geronimo's song "Before I Fall In Love" express the inner conflict of falling in love while being hesitant to trust one's own emotions. The lyrics speak of uncertainty when it comes to trusting someone and being vulnerable to love. The lines "Can I trust the way I feel, 'cause my heart's been fooled before" show the struggle of trying to decipher whether the attraction is real or just a mirage. The lyrics also express the desire to believe in a love that can last, someone who can be held onto through all the ups and downs of life.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the need for reassurance and certainty before one can truly fall in love. The lyrics express the desire for someone who is genuine and who will stay around even when things get tough. The fear of getting "burned" is also expressed in the lyrics, and it is clear that the singer of the song is at a point of no return in terms of deciding whether to take a chance on love.
Overall, "Before I Fall In Love" is a timeless love song that speaks to the human experience of falling in love and the fear that comes along with it. It is relatable and has resonated with listeners for many years.
