Right Here Waiting
Sarah Geronimo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice on the line
But it doesn't stop the pain
If I see you next to never
How can we say forever
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you
I took for granted, all the times
That I though would last somehow
I hear the laughter, and I taste the tears
But I can't get near you now
Oh, can't you see it baby
You've got me going crazy
I wonder how we can survive
This romance
But in the end if I'm with you
I'll take the chance
Oh, can't you see it, baby
You've got me going crazy
Right here waiting for you
My darling
Right here waiting for you
The song "Right Here Waiting" by Sarah Geronimo is about a long-distance relationship that has caused the singer to go insane. The lyrics depict the pain and heartbreak associated with not being able to be with someone you love due to physical distance. Even though the singer hears her lover's voice on the line, it doesn't stop the pain.
The song speaks to the struggles of distance and how it can make the heart grow fonder. It calls into question the concept of "forever" and how it can be promised when two people are oceans apart and unable to physically be together. Additionally, the song touches on the idea of taking things for granted and not fully appreciating the moments spent with loved ones before they are gone.
Overall, the song is a powerful representation of the difficulties that come with long-distance relationships and the pain that one might feel when away from their loved ones.

Oceans apart day after day
Despite the distance between us, we remain apart and don't seem to get any closer.
And I slowly go insane
The constant separation and longing for you is making me feel crazy and anxious over time.
I hear your voice on the line
I can hear you over the phone, but it's not enough to keep my spirits up.
But it doesn't stop the pain
Even though I can hear you, it still hurts that we're not together.
If I see you next to never
If we hardly ever get to see each other,
How can we say forever
how can we make promises that we know we may not be able to keep?
Wherever you go
No matter where you travel,
Whatever you do
whatever you may find yourself doing,
I will be right here waiting for you
I will always be here, waiting for you to come back home to me.
Whatever it takes
Even if it means going through hard times,
Or how my heart breaks
even if it breaks my heart along the way,
I will be right here waiting for you
I will be waiting, ready for you to return no matter how long it takes or what we must go through.
I took for granted, all the times
I carelessly overlooked, all the times
That I thought would last somehow
the moments I loosely believed would stay with us.
I hear the laughter, and I taste the tears

But I can't get near you now
But now, I can't reach you or be beside you to share these feelings.

Oh, don't you realize my feelings for you, my dear?
You've got me going crazy
You're driving me insane with your absence, and I need you back here with me.
I wonder how we can survive
I often wonder how we can endure the test of time
This romance
this love affair we hold so dear.
But in the end if I'm with you
However if we are together in the end,
I'll take the chance
I'll take a leap of faith, and risk all for that's how much I love you.
Right here waiting for you
I patiently anticipate your return here, now and forever.
My darling
My love, my dearest.
Right here waiting for you
Always waiting for you, my beloved.

Oh my, your voice and the way you delivered this timeless song, had me bawling my eyes out. This song is one my mother loves, and it helped us grow closer during my younger years. To say this song holds a special place in my heart is the understatement of the century. Your cover was so powerful, thank you so much for bringing a smile to my face, Miss Geronimo.
