Ay lagi kang nandito
At kahit hindi gwapo sa isip ko
Ay kamuka mo si piolo
(dahil) di kailangan ng kanta
Upang sumayaw ng (chacha/rumba)
Ang puso ko'y sumasaya
Dahil ikaw ang champion ko
Ikaw ang panalo, winner ito
Dahil ikaw ang champion ko
Nakuha mo na ang lahat ng boto
Kaya wag kang magtataka
Kung consolation ang iba
Dahil ikaw ang champion
Champion ng puso ko
Kahit paulit ulit ang porma mo
Sa akin laging bago
At kahit laging utal, bulol ikaw
Ako naman ang spokesman mo
The lyrics in Sarah Geronimo's song "Champion" is about someone who is always present for the singer, even if they don't have material possessions such as a car or phone. The person may not be traditionally good looking, but they resemble the actor Piolo Pascual in the eyes of the singer. The chorus of the song explains that the person in question is the singer's champion and winner. They have gained all of the singer's votes and the singer's heart. Even if others receive consolation, the person in question is still the true champion in the singer's heart.
Essentially, the lyrics talk about how the person in question may not seem to have much, but they are the singer's "champion" because of their loyalty and presence. The singer is content with the person's company, and even when their words may not be eloquent, they still hold meaning and value to the singer. The song speaks about the importance of companionship and how it trumps material possessions or good looks.
