Le temps
Sava Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Envole-toi loin, mon esprit

Overall Meaning

In Sava's song Le temps, the lyrics talk about the fleeting nature of life and how it can be compared to a dream or a passing shadow. The first stanza questions the value of a wandering dream, which is fleeting and changeable, and compares it to life's transience. The second stanza similarly questions the value of a moving shadow, which is unstable and unpredictable, and draws a comparison to the fleeting nature of life as well.

The third and final stanza speaks about the passing of time and how everyone must move forward and embrace change. It describes how time has shed its cloak, and everyone must now clothe themselves anew. And despite a sense of confusion or chaos in the world, all creatures continue to sing their own language. The stanza concludes with a call to the spirit to rise above the obscure and morbid surroundings and purify itself in the clear air, and imbibe the divine fire that fills the space.

There is a sense of melancholy and introspection in the lyrics of Le temps, as well as a call to seize the moment, to embrace change and to strive for purity and clarity amidst the chaos of life.
