6) Savant (Tucson, AZ) - Tucson, AZ resident, by way of El Paso, TX and Chicago, IL, Gregory “Savant” Daggett has always possessed a passion for music and literary arts. Involved in general music since age 7, and a trumpet player since age 10, he wasn’t officially exposed to hip hop until age 12. Although no particular emcee caught his ear right away, he was intrigued with the entire concept of an individual or a group of people speaking over instrumentation in an intensely rhythmic lyrical form, oftentimes telling semi-autobiographic tales relating to a fictionalized counterpart. He became inspired to write and partake of the art of emceeing after hearing the 1999 classic “Black on Both Sides” by Dante Smith and honed his emceeing chops at the lunch room ciphers of Chicago high schools Whitney M. Young Magnet and George Washington Carver. He has since dedicated every verse, every bar and every word to achieving the ever elusive sense of balance in this hallowed art form
Super Sheriff
Savant Lyrics

I will destroy you, with all
My mighty evil powers, Ha ha ha ha!
Hold on there mister monster man
Super Sheriff is in the house
Now don't you worry
There's a new sheriff in town
Now don't you worry
Now don't you worry, no no
Now don't you worry
There's a new sheriff in town
Now that America's in our heads
And that the rest of the world is dead
That's what the TV said
There's a new sheriff in town
No he's not afraid to fight
And he's not afraid to die for what's right
Awesome he's got a shotgun, bam
He's got the bad guys on the run, oh no
He wants you alive
So he can whip you up real good
Don't be lying or stealing, understood
The sheriff did what he should
I understand, Super Sheriff so
You want to fight, Huh?
(There's a new sheriff in town)
I'll fight you, with my mighty evil powers!
(There's a new sheriff in town)
Who, who, who will rescue you? The money
No the money is fucking up your mind
Never underestimate the evil in our world
It hungers for me and for you girl
(Yeah fuck it)
Oh the super sheriff
Did you see the super sheriff?
Wow, the super sheriff
(There's a new sheriff in town)
A storm is coming
I can feel a storm is coming
Don't you worry, don't you worry
There's a new sheriff in town
And he's watching over you
So you can sleep at night
And he won't stop to fight
Until everything is right
The super sheriff, watch out
The lyrics of Savant's song "Super Sheriff" portray a battle between good and evil, personified by Super Sheriff and a mysterious monster figure. The song begins with the monster expressing fear and uncertainty, to which Super Sheriff confidently declares his intent to destroy him with his "mighty evil powers." The lyrics suggest a confrontation between the forces of good and evil, where Super Sheriff represents justice and a sense of empowerment.
As the song progresses, it becomes clear that Super Sheriff is here to save the day. The lyrics emphasize that there is "a new sheriff in town," indicating a shift in power and the arrival of a hero to combat the perceived chaos and corruption. He is described as unafraid to fight and even die for what is right, wielding a shotgun and making the bad guys flee in fear. Super Sheriff's mission is not just about physical confrontation but also about upholding moral values, as he expects honesty and decency from those he encounters.
The lyrics take a darker turn when they mention the influence of the media, particularly American culture, on the perception of the world. This suggests that Super Sheriff's presence is a response to the distorted reality presented by television. It implies that the character serves as a symbol of resistance against the manipulation of truth and the corruption of society, inviting listeners to question the information they consume.
The closing verses of the song reaffirm Super Sheriff's role as a protector. He is described as watching over people, ensuring their safety and allowing them to sleep peacefully at night. The lyrics emphasize his persistence in fighting until everything is made right, instilling a sense of hope that justice will prevail. The storm imagery suggests impending conflict, but the presence of Super Sheriff signals that there is a way to navigate through the chaos and find a resolution.

Seriously, why did he make a remake of this song??? The remake sounds very similiar to this one, i only noticed 2 big changes : this part where it says never underestimate the evil and so on, and he removed these moaning sounds, probably he wanted a version of this song where there isnt this awkward moment when you show it to someone else haha^^
