By the mid 1990's Thomas had become a fixture on the LA club circuit taking up residency on Tuesday nights at Club Largo in the Fairfax district, where he, along with Jon Brion, Aimee Mann, Rufus Wainwright and Grant Lee Phillips, would help establish Largo as a weekly 'scene.' His 1998 Elektra release as described by BAM magazine - "One listen to California, the Scott Thomas Band's debut album, and you'll know this is the real thing. His voice equal parts Jeff Tweedy and Jackson Browne...Thomas and band emerged from the forest with the finest slice of SoCal since Gram Parsons untimely death two and a half decades ago." Over the past five years, Scott has been writing and recording song after amazing song. Stories from a wanderer, a dreamer, a believer-laid to the perfect score for fin de sicle California.
Need You Tonight
Scott Thomas Lyrics
First day snow fell, warm inside don't tell
Honey, your secret is safe
Midnight unfolds in your eyes
Lost in the quiet, stars come alive
Even the darkness can't hide love's imperfections...what can i do
No one is lying but nobody's telling the truth
Babe, i don't wanna be right
It's making me lonely
Holding onto you tight
I need you to know me
I need you tonight
Next day the cold stayed, another bed unmade
Drinking the medicine down
Tossing and turning, heaven is burning
We'll have to find our way out
Babe, i don't wanna be right
It's making me lonely
Holding onto you tight
I need you to know me
I need you tonight
Not even time can erase our indiscretions... all we've been thru
Torn up and twisted the call came i missed it
I'm done resisting you
Babe, i don't wanna be right
It's making me lonely
Holding onto you tight
I need you to know me
I need you tonight
Honey, your secret is safe
Midnight unfolds in your eyes
Lost in the quiet, stars come alive
Even the darkness can't hide love's imperfections...what can i do
No one is lying but nobody's telling the truth
Babe, i don't wanna be right
It's making me lonely
I need you to know me
I need you tonight
Next day the cold stayed, another bed unmade
Drinking the medicine down
Tossing and turning, heaven is burning
We'll have to find our way out
Babe, i don't wanna be right
It's making me lonely
Holding onto you tight
I need you to know me
I need you tonight
Not even time can erase our indiscretions... all we've been thru
Torn up and twisted the call came i missed it
I'm done resisting you
Babe, i don't wanna be right
It's making me lonely
Holding onto you tight
I need you to know me
I need you tonight
