Radio station, that's where you came from.
It's the sound of the summer, and everyone is singing along.
You danced to the beat of the drum.
Memories make music, music make memories.
The moon in the sky on the hot summer nights
That we partied, we stayed out all night long.
You haunt me in a pop song.
She haunts me in a pop song, on the radio.
Every night you've been gone
She haunts me in a pop song, on the radio.
Oh, No. They've been playing our song out, everywhere I go.
Oh, as it plays, it keeps me on hold, I'm radio controlled.
Oh. No. They've been playing your song out, everywhere I go.
Oh as it plays, I can see your smile like it was yesterday
On the radio, on the radio, on the radio, on the radio...
You left in the autumn, without any warning,
But the music still played through the wind and the rain.
And the summer, the summer lived on in my walkman.
I wanted to hate you, but I can't escape you.
You're in every song, you're in every song from the past.
A ghost from the radio mast.
She haunts me in a pop song.
I'm alone, I'm alone, I'm alone.
Wired to the radio.
I'm alone, I'm alone, I'm alone.
But you're everywhere I go.
Every night you've been gone
You haunt me in a pop song, on the radio.
Oh, No. They've been playing our song out, everywhere I go.
Oh, as it plays, it keeps me on hold, I'm radio controlled.
Oh. No. They've been playing our song out, everywhere I go.
Oh as it plays, I can see your smile like it was yesterday
On the radio, on the radio, on the radio, on the radio
The song 'On The Radio' by Scouting for Girls is all about how memories and music are interlinked. The song begins with the singer reminiscing about the summer memories of partying and staying out all night long. The song then moves on to lamenting the absence of a lost love, who keeps haunting the singer in every pop song played on the radio. The loss of the love is portrayed as sudden and without warning, but the music remains a constant reminder of the time they had together. The song speaks about how music is a perfect tool to capture and relive memories, and how it helps keep memories alive.
The lyrics portray a sense of longing and a feeling of being isolated, while the entire world moves on. The singer is wired to the radio, listening to the music that plays everywhere they go, being 'radio-controlled' by the songs played. The song also serves as a metaphor for how people often connect memories with certain songs, and even after a loved one is gone, the memories associated with them still remain alive through the music they once listened to together.
