Suffer It All
Seether Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Mass inclination will fuel my frustration
And keep all redemption at bay
All indications prove your all mutations
And you all have nothing to say

Hate
Down on me
Break
Down on me
Slave
Down on me
Plague
Down on me

I can't believe everything you believe perceive
Is rightfully coming your way

Take me back to where I need to go (Inside me)
Show me how to question all I know (Excite me)
You'll come around (And reveal yourself)
You come down (In this best education)
I'll fall down (As we kill ourselves)
When it all goes down (Are you ready to suffer it all?)

My aggravation is manifestation
Of all of the shit that you say
This complication will lead to this damnation
Of all those who stand in my way

Hate
Down on me
Break
Down on me
Slave
Down on me
Plague
Down on me

I can't believe everything you believe perceive
Is rightfully coming your way

Take me back to where I need to go (Inside me)
Show me how to question all I know (Excite me)
You'll come around (And reveal yourself)
You come down (In this best education)
I'll fall down (As we kill ourselves)
When it all goes down (Are you ready to suffer it all?)

Take me back to where I need to go (Inside me)
Show me how to question all I know (Excite me)
You'll come around (And reveal yourself)
You come down (In this best education)
I'll fall down (As we kill ourselves)
When it all goes down (Are you ready to suffer it all?)

I'll be ready to suffer it all
I'll be ready to suffer it all

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Seether's song "Suffer It All" are a powerful expression of anger and frustration towards society. The opening lines suggest that the collective attitudes and behavior of the masses are fueling the singer's sense of frustration, preventing them from finding redemption or peace. The singer sees evidence that people are changing into something mutated, and yet they have nothing of importance to say.

The chorus is a repetition of the phrase "Down on me," with a list of increasingly negative words that seem to embody the singer's fears and concerns. The word "Hate" introduces this list, followed by "Break," "Slave," and "Plague," suggesting a sense of oppression and helplessness in the face of society's problems.

The later verses of the song suggest that the singer's frustration and anger are a result of being surrounded by people who are perpetuating negative cycles of behavior and thought. The lyrics express a desire to break free from this and find one's own way, even if that means suffering. The repetition of the phrase "Take me back to where I need to go" suggests a return to a simpler, more authentic way of being, and a rejection of society's pressure to conform.

Overall, "Suffer It All" is a bleak but powerful statement about the struggles of trying to remain true to oneself in a world that seems determined to crush individuality and creativity.

If you wanna know how heavy Seether can go, you can't just stick to the singles. As a kid I thought that the heaviest Seether song was Remedy. Then I found Gasoline. Then I found No Jesus Christ, Suffer it All, Keep The Dogs At Bay, See You At The Bottom and just kept discovering the heavy and extremely underrated side of this amazing band.

I'm glad they are going back to their roots, I think Disclaimer II is their best, and one of the best metal-grunge albums ever. Can't wait for this album to be released.
