And time can't be bought
I know it inside my heart
Forever will forever be ours
Even if we try to forget
Love will remember
You said you loved me, I said I loved you back
All your promises, and all them plans we had
What happened to that? What happened to that?
Boom, gone
Yeah, we move on
Even if we try to forget
Love will remember you
And love will remember me
I know it inside my heart
Forever will forever be ours
Even if we try to forget
Love will remember, love will remember
Love will remember, love will remember, love will remember
The trips we dreamed of taking
The tacks left on the map
What happened to that? What happened to that?
When all you had was nothing
And all we did was laugh
What happened, what happened, what happened to that?
Boom, gone
Yeah, we move on
Even if we try to forget
Love will remember you
And love will remember me
I know it inside my heart
Forever will forever be ours
Even if we try to forget
Love will remember, love will remember
Love will remember, love will remember, love will remember
Love will remember, love will remember
Love will remember, love will remember
Break down the walls let heaven in
Somewhere in forever, we'll dance again
We used to be inseparable
I used to think that I was irreplaceable
We lit the whole world up, before we blew it up
I still don't know just how we screwed it up
Forever, forever, forever
Love will remember you
And love will remember me
I know it inside my heart
Forever will forever be ours
Even if we try to forget
Love will remember, love will remember
Love will remember, love will remember, love will remember
Love will remember, love will remember
Love will remember, love will remember
The lyrics in Selena Gomez's song Love Will Remember speak about the fragility of time and the power of love to transcend physical and emotional distance. The first verse reminds us that we have to make the most of the time we have because it can not be bought, and that the memories we create will last forever. Even if we try to move on from a past romance, love will always remain in our hearts and continue to influence us. The second verse reflects on a past relationship that fell apart despite promises and plans made with the other person, leaving the singer trying to make sense of it all. The repetition of the question "What happened to that?" indicates the singer's confusion and sadness about the lost connection.
The chorus reinforces the idea that love doesn't end simply because a relationship does. It lingers in our hearts and keeps the memories alive, making them forever ours. The idea that love remembers both the singer and the other person suggests that their relationship was profound and meaningful, and that these feelings will continue to exist even as they try to separate themselves from each other. The bridge offers a glimmer of hope as it encourages the listener to break down the walls that keep them from love and to believe that they will find it again, even if not with the same person. The line "I used to think that I was irreplaceable" acknowledges that sometimes people need to let go of the past and move on to embrace new possibilities, including the possibility of a new kind of love.
