Semisane - comprising Tikara (vocals, guitar, songwriting), Chris Acker (guitar, songwriting), Sascha Muller (drums,) and Nic Acker (bass) - have moulded into a tight, confident group. This solid and focused band has achieved both broad critical acclaim and continually impressive sales as they gigged and toured extensively, spreading their sparking and rocking pop around the country and across radio and TV. Semisane's record label, BMG Africa, are highly satisfied with the band's progress to date and are confident that 2002 will see the band reaching an even wider audience both nationally and internationally. The band has already made a solid impact on the German market, and its success in SA has continued to catch the attention of the BMG headquarters in Germany.
Semisane has also cemented its excellent and supportive relationship with international clothing label Kangol and Play Energy Drink by signing new sponsorship contracts for 2002. The band are currently hard at work in their studio on material for their as-yet-untitled 2nd album. After taking 2 months off in the beginning of 2002 to write and demo new material, Semisane will be returning to the live circuit in March and April 2002. Semisane have also received their first SA Music Award nomination for "Life" in the "Best Pop Rock Single" category. SAMA 2002 winners will be announced on 13 April 2002.

Semisane Lyrics

I wonder where you are and if you're still denying
That the time has come for everyone
I see the rivers and the mountains are crying
I know its over, time is flying
The time has come for everyone
The time has come
The time has come
The time has come
I see the rivers and the mountains are crying
I know its over, time is dying
The time has come for everyone
The time has come
The time has come
The time has come
The time has come
The time has come
The time has come
The time has come
The time has come
I look all around
Everything's what I believe
It's raining on me
I taste, I feel
That this is our time
This is our time
The time has come
The time has come
The time has come
The time has come
The time has come
The time has come
The time has come
The time has come
The lyrics to Semisane's song "Time" convey a sense of urgency and the idea that time is running out. The opening lines describe a beautiful landscape with sunshine and rivers, yet there is a sense of sadness as they talk about wondering where someone is and if they are still in denial of the inevitable passing of time. The chorus repeats the phrase "the time has come" as if to emphasize the importance of the moment.
The second verse describes the same scenery as crying, perhaps a metaphor for the passing of time which causes everything to eventually deteriorate. The use of the word "dying" in relation to time further emphasizes this idea. The repeated use of the phrase "the time has come" suggests that the singer is aware that they need to take action, make decisions, or accept something that they have been avoiding.
The bridge of the song contains the lines "I look all around, everything's what I believe, it's raining on me, I taste, I feel, that this is our time." This suggests that the singer has come to a realization and acceptance of the situation they are in. The use of sensory language conveys the intensity of the moment.
