Sergent Garcia mixes reggae, salsa, raggamuffin, rock and other trends in a new style he defines as the salsamuffin.
In 2011, he released his sixth studio album, Una y otra vez (Cumbancha / The Gwagwita), recorded in France, Spain, Cuba and Colombia.
Together with Colectivo Iye Ife, Sergent Garcia started a world tour that began in Paris in March 2011 and made appearances in through Europe, the United States, Canada, Mexico and Colombia.

The song "Gigante" by Sergent Garcia seems to be a reflection of the struggles the singer is facing in life. He is trying to escape the chaos and despair of the city, but is unable to. The opening lines, "Yo no soy marinero yo no soy capitan, Mirame a los ojos y dime la verdad" (@I am not a sailor, I am not a captain, Look into my eyes and tell me the truth), indicate that he feels lost and directionless. He tries to open doors, but they keep closing on him, and he is left to look at the city as a crazy man. He wants to escape the bottomless pit that is the city and feels suffocated by the endless cycle of daily struggle.

He is willing to risk everything and take the final leap for her.
