Einer, der in Berlin-Schöneberg beginnt, wo Sero 1992 geboren wird. Er ist der Sohn einer deutschen Mutter und eines tunesischen Vaters. »Ich war schon immer der blonde Araber mit Babyface«, sagt Sero und lacht. Aber die Identitätsfrage wird bald zum Problem: »Ich habe mich weder als Deutscher noch als Araber gefühlt.« Dabei ist es nicht gerade förderlich, dass Sero in Schöneberg aufwächst. Er kommt früh mit Drogen in Kontakt. Aber wenig später zeigt ihm sein Cousin Graffiti. »Mein Alltag war Chaos. In der Schule haben mir die Lehrer erzählt, wie ich zu sein habe. Aber wenn ich ein leeres Blatt oder eine weiße Wand vor mir hatte, dann war das Freiheit – weil nur ich entschieden habe, was passiert.«
Und trotzdem rutscht Sero ab. »Ich hab mich kaum noch zuhause blicken lassen und war einfach ein Straßenköter. Wenn er mit seinen Jungs zusammensitzt, freestylen sie auch immer wieder. »Irgendwann hat einer meiner Kumpels dann den ersten Text geschrieben und darin über uns gerappt – das fand ich total geil. Denn während ich mir mit der Dose die Nächte um die Ohren geschlagen und meinen Arsch riskiert habe, musste er einfach etwas rappen und alle haben ihn gefeiert!«, lacht Sero. Angefixt beginnt er, seine ersten eigenen Texte zu schreiben.
Irgendwann kriegt er sein Leben in den Griff. Sero macht Abitur mit Einser-Schnitt, studiert erst Psychologie, fängt danach ein Regiestudium an und schreibt sich schließlich für Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen ein – aber es stellt sich kein richtiger Erfolg ein. Mit ein bisschen Erspartem nimmt er ein 3-Track-Demo auf, das über Umwege bei Four Music landet, wo Sero kurz darauf gesignt wird und aus dem Nichts den Song »HOLY« veröffentlicht. Das zugehörige Album, sein Debütalbum »The One And Only« ist voller Erwartungen: »Die meisten nehmen nur von Rap – aber mir hat er so viel gegeben, dass ich ihm etwas zurückgeben möchte. Natürlich hat sich das Genre weiterentwickelt und einen großen Schritt gemacht, aber es ist noch so viel mehr möglich – das werde ich jetzt zeigen.«
