In 2007 they decided to join in a tour that started in Spain and ended in Argentina. They each sang the other's most well-known songs and even joined to change and update the lyrics of classics, making fun of themselves.
To see them live was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that brought together generations of listeners in the world's largest Spanish-speaking cities.
They produced a CD and a DVD of one concert in Spain.

Señora
Serrat & Sabina Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The song "Señora" by Serrat and Sabina starts off with the singer acknowledging that he is the one causing the tears of the woman's daughter. He refers to himself as the thief who is robbing the woman of her love. Despite knowing that he is not a good son-in-law and almost a kiss from hell, he reminds her that he is still a kiss nonetheless. The singer is the reason why the woman is mourning for the loss of her once-beautiful, vibrant self. The song implies that her obsession with taking care of her child, worrying about his dreams, and shedding tears for his cries has led her to sacrifice her own needs, beauty, and happiness.
The second part of the song picks up with the singer reminding the woman that all her efforts, fawning over her child, and the nuns' teachings were useless in shaping him into an ideal son-in-law. He is everything she didn't expect or want him to be- a long-haired dreamer who is the reason why her daughter is shedding tears. He reminds her that her daughter left with a stranger who gave her a taste of love but left her with wrinkles and lost time. In the end, the singer asks the woman to look back on her past and remember that she once had a youthful body and a dream.
Overall, "Señora" is a song that reflects on the sacrifices that mothers make for their children, sometimes forgetting about their own needs and desires. The singer assigns himself as the reason why the woman is miserable, reminding her that she too had a dream and a youthful body before motherhood. The song is an introspective reminder that taking care of oneself is just as important as taking care of loved ones.

Ese por quien llora su hija,
I am the one for whom your daughter mourns,
Ese ladrón que os desvalija
I am the thief who robs you of your love,
De su amor soy yo, señora.
I am the one she loves, ma'am.
Ya sé que no soy un buen yerno,
I know I am not a good son-in-law,
Soy casi un beso del infierno,
I am almost a kiss from hell,
Pero un beso al fin, señora.
But a kiss nonetheless, ma'am.
Yo soy ése por quin ahora
I am the one for whom you now wonder, ma'am,
Os preguntáis por qué, señora,
you ask why, ma'am,
Se marchitó vuestra fragancia,
your fragrance faded,
Perdiendo la vida, mimando su infancia,
losing your life, pampering her infancy,
Velando su sueño, llorando su llanto
watching over her sleep, crying over her tears
Con tanta abundancia.
with such abundance.
Si cuando se abre una flor,
If when a flower blooms,
Al olor de la flor, se le olvida a la flor.
the flower forgets its own scent.
De nada sirvieron las monjas
The nuns served no purpose
Ni los caprichos y lisonjas
Nor did the whims and flattery
Que tuvo a granel, señora.
that she had in abundance, ma'am.
No la educó, ya me hago cargo,
She was not educated, I understand,
Para un soñador de pelo largo,
For a long-haired dreamer,
Qué le va usted a hacer señora.
what can you do, ma'am.
Si en su reloj sonó la hora
If in her watch, the hour sounded
De abandonar su hogar, señora,
to leave her home, ma'am,
En brazos de un desconocido
in the arms of a stranger
who only gave her a slight touch of cupid
who did not make her beautiful by force of wrinkles
Y de años perdidos.
and lost years.
Póngase usted un vestido viejo
Put on an old dress, ma'am
Y de reojo en el espejo
and from the corner of the mirror
Vaya marcha atrás, señora.
go back in time, ma'am.
Recuerde antes de maldecirme
Remember before cursing me,
Que tuvo usted la carne firme
that you had firm flesh,
Y un sueño en la piel,
and a dream on your skin
Y un sueño en la piel, señora.
and a dream on your skin, ma'am.
