Shaka Ponk is a Paris-based band that has created a sound that blends electro, rock, punk, and dance with a stunning live show that combines advanced digital animation with an unsurpassed display of energy from the band members. Released under the French record label tôt Ou tard/ Guess What! (Yael Naim - Piers Faccini), Bad Porn Movie Trax is composed of fourteen high-energy tracks including singles "How We Kill Stars" and "Do".
Shaka Ponk got its start between Paris and Berlin in 2005 from a concept that brings together music, imagery and activism. The former web designer and imaginative frontman of the group, Frah, along with guitarist, CC, came up with a highly original project that combined conventional rock-n-roll elements (dirty guitar riffs and cardiac stimulating beats) with new techniques such as VJing, which mixes sounds and images around an animated monkey character named Goz who is as much a part of the group as the other five members. Since then, the band has been extremely active online creating complex videos and innovative motion graphic work as well as their own online channel, "Monkey TV".
Shaka Ponk performed in New York City for the first time October 2009 in the celebrated CMJ Musical Festival and on November 7, AOL chose the track "How We Kill Stars" off the new album Bad Porn Movie Trax as the Music Video of the Day. The band released the album in the United States on March 1, 2010.
In 2011 the band added a female singer, Samaha Sam, and released their album The Geeks and the Jerkin' Socks in June, 2011.

(TEKNO KILLS) ...
I’m spinning around, going down, wéheyo
Hush, let me be, spinnin’round, wéheyo
I’m feeling: «I’m gone» wéheyo
Sad feeling: «I’m lost» wéheyo
Heal me my mate and regulate me ho
Come to fix my meal and let me heal, wéheyo
Sad feeling: «I’m lost» wéheyo
...
I’m feeling: «I’m gone» wéheyo
Sad feeling: «I’m lost» wéheyo

The lyrics to Shaka Ponk's song Tekno Kills capture a sense of disorientation and confusion, with the singer feeling like they are spinning out of control and lost. The repeated use of the phrase "I'm feeling: 'I'm gone'" and "Sad feeling: 'I'm lost'" reinforces this theme of instability and dislocation. The lyrics suggest a desire for someone to come and help the singer regain their sense of balance and order, with lines like "Heal me my mate and regulate me ho" and "Come to fix my meal and let me heal." The use of the word "mate" suggests that this help may come from a trusted friend or partner.
The title of the song, "Tekno Kills," suggests that the singer's disorientation may be linked to technology or the pace of modern life. The use of the word "tekno" instead of "technology" hints at a more specific reference to electronic dance music culture, which is often associated with euphoria and ecstatic experiences. However, the lyrics suggest that this high may be fleeting and ultimately destructive, with the repeated refrain of "Tekno Kills" implying that there are dangers associated with this kind of hedonism.
Overall, the lyrics to "Tekno Kills" capture a sense of dislocation and yearning for stability, while also hinting at the darker side of techno culture and its potential hazards.
