Her success was further solidified with the Spanish albums Fijación Oral, Vol. 1 (2005), Sale el Sol (2010) and El Dorado (2017), all of which topped the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and were certified diamond (Latin) by the Recording Industry Association of America. Meanwhile, her English albums Oral Fixation, Vol. 2 (2005), She Wolf (2009) and Shakira (2014) were all certified gold, platinum or multi-platinum in various countries worldwide. She served as a coach on two seasons of the American singing competition television series The Voice (2013–2014).
With a catalog of 145 songs, Shakira has sold over 80 million records, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Forbes Colombia reported that as of 2018, she is the top-selling female Latin artist of all time. She is credited with opening the doors of the international market for other Latin artists. She has received numerous awards, including three Grammy Awards, twelve Latin Grammy Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards, thirty-nine Billboard Latin Music Awards, twenty-one Guinness World Records and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was named the Top Female Latin Artist of the Decade by Billboard twice (2000s and 2010s). For her philanthropic work with her Barefoot Foundation and her contributions to music she received the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year and Harvard Foundation Artist of the Year awards in 2011. She was appointed to the President's Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics in the US in 2011, and Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government in 2012.
03 Donde Estan Los Ladrones
Shakira Lyrics

Los han visto en los tejados
Dando vueltas en París
Condenando en los juzgados
Con la nariz empolvada
De corbata o de blue jeans
Los han visto en las portadas, todas
¿Dónde están los ladrones?
¿Dónde esta el asesino?
Quizá allá revolcándose
En el patio del vecino
Y qué pasa si son ellos
Y qué pasa si soy yo
El que toca esta guitarra
O la que canta esta canción
La que canta esta canción
Los han visto de rodillas
Sentados o de cuclillas
Parados dando lecciones
En todas las posiciones
Predicando en las iglesias
Hasta ofreciendo conciertos
Los han visto en los cocteles, todos
Repartiendo ministerios
¿Dónde están los ladrones?
¿Dónde esta el asesino?
Quizá allá revolcándose
En el patio del vecino
Y qué pasa si son ellos
Y qué pasa si soy yo
El que toca esta guitarra
O la que canta esta canción
La que canta esta canción
In Shakira's song "Dónde Están los Ladrones?" the lyrics question the whereabouts of thieves and murderers. The opening lines describe how the thieves have been seen around, on roofs, taking a stroll in Paris, and even present in courtrooms. The next line tells us that these thieves are seen with powdered noses, dressed in either fancy suits or casual blue jeans, with their faces on magazine covers. The chorus then asks, "Where are the thieves? Where is the murderer?" and suggests that they may be rolling around in a neighbor's yard.
The next verse describes how the thieves have been seen in various positions, either kneeling, squatting, or standing, giving lessons and sermons in churches, and even offering ministerial positions in their cocktail parties. The chorus repeats the same questions, emphasizing the lack of clarity regarding the whereabouts of the thieves and murderers. The final lines, however, add an intriguing twist as Shakira wonders, "What if it is one of us playing the guitar or singing this song?"
The lyrics of "Dónde Están los Ladrones?" seem to suggest that thieves and murderers are all around us, whether sitting in courtrooms or singing on stages. The song also implies that perhaps we are all capable of committing these crimes, hence the line about it potentially being "one of us" with the guitar. Overall, the lyrics question the securities in the society, highlighting the possibility of evil-doers existing in any corner, heavily emphasizing the lack of concrete knowledge about such individuals.
