In the Secret
Shane and Caleb Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity
And in sin and my mother conceive me
Behold, You delight in the truth and the inward me
And You teach me wisdom in the secret heart

And my sins, not far, but right in front of me
Against You and You alone, God, I am guilty
Wash me thoroughly, cleanse me from iniquity
And teach me wisdom in the secret heart

Oh, create in me a clean heart, oh God
Renew a right spirit within me, oh God
Cast me not away from Your presence
Take not Your Holy Spirit
Restore in me the joy of Your salvation
And teach me wisdom in the secret heart

Send me the chief of sinners to proclaim
Come be forgiven the sin, the lamb of God was slain
Open my lips and my mouth will declare Your endless praise
And teach me wisdom in the secret heart

Create in me a clean heart, oh God
Renew a right spirit within me, oh God
Cast me not away from Your presence
Take not Your Holy Spirit
Restore in me the joy of Your salvation
And teach me wisdom in the secret heart
Wisdom in the secret heart

The Lord is gracious and slow to anger
Rich in love, He is good to all
The Lord is gracious and slow to anger
Rich in love, He is good to all
The Lord is gracious and slow to anger
Rich in love, He is good to all
The Lord is gracious and slow to anger
Rich in love, He is good to all
Good to all
Good to all
Good to all

Create in me a clean heart, oh God
Renew a right spirit within me, oh God
Cast me not away from Your presence
Take not Your Holy Spirit
Restore in me the joy of Your salvation

And teach me wisdom in the secret heart
Wisdom in the secret heart

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "In the Secret" by Shane and Caleb speak of the struggles of human sin and the desire for God to cleanse and renew the singer's heart. The opening lines acknowledge the universal human condition of sin and imperfection, even from the moment of conception. The singer then looks to God as the source of wisdom and the one who can teach them how to live truthfully and purely from the inside out.

The next stanza expresses the singer's deep sense of guilt and need for cleansing in the sight of God. They acknowledge that their sins are ever before them, and they can only turn to God for forgiveness and restoration. The plea to "create in me a clean heart" and "restore in me the joy of Your salvation" is a cry for God to do the inner work that the singer cannot do on their own.

The final stanza turns from personal confession to a declaration of God's character. The Lord is gracious, slow to anger, and rich in love; these attributes are repeated for emphasis. The singer is reminded that God is good to all, even those who are steeped in sin like the "chief of sinners." The final call to wisdom in the secret heart is a continuation of the opening prayer, seeking to live a transformed life from the inside out.

Pobre Igrid. No debieron matarlo. Si eran tan profesionales pudo haber estrategia para no hacerlo. Necesitaba ayuda.

@omairacoromotoinagarivas4580
