Early years
Dangond grew up back and forward between his birthplace Urumita and Valledupar, but mostly in this last one, where his parents moved when he was just a year old to Valledupar due to financial hardships. As a curiosity Jorge Oñate was his Godparent. In Valledupar his parents enrolled him in the Jardín Nacional nursery school, later attended middle school at the Colegio Colombo-Ingles and high school at the Colegio Britanico, finally graduated from the Liceo del Caribe high school. During his Childhood Dangond also participated in many vallenato children festivals supported by his parents. specially his father, and had the opportunity at the age of 13 to record a song written by vallenato composer Octavio Daza.

No-no, no-no
Ay hombre
Ay
Compadre Silvestre
Desespera'o, derrota'o, como he llora'o
Ay, no te miento
No-oh, oh-oh
Ay hombre
Y cuelgo los guantes
Y cuelgo los guantes
No-no, sí-sí
Los cuelgo, hombre
Joda, me encanta
Hombre

The lyrics of "Dame un besito" by Silvestre Dangond featuring Alex Sensation narrate a man's plea for forgiveness and a second chance from his lover. He is willing to do anything, even carry her bags, and follow her wherever she goes. Alex Sensation's interlude serves as a reminder of the power of forgiveness and not to turn away from someone who seeks redemption. The man admits his mistakes and expresses his regret for hurting his lover. He promises to change and let go of his other women to be with her. The song ends with Silvestre's singing, "You can't leave me like this without warning."
The song portrays the common theme of love, forgiveness, and second chances that many can relate to. It highlights that no matter how complicated relationships can be, forgiveness is key to making them work. The lyrics also showcase the Colombian vallenato style of music with its accordion-driven rhythm and upbeat tempo.
