Cordilheira
Simone Lyrics

Transformando a juventude
Um Jesus crucificado
Eu quero ter a sensação das cordilheiras.
The lyrics of "Cordilheira" by Simone are provocative and thought-provoking. The song speaks to a desire for a violent and cruel world in which innocent flowers are crushed and suicides march for the sake of our lives. The image of mountains collapsing onto these innocent flowers serves to emphasize a desire for overwhelming destruction in one's own life. The desire for change is also present in the lyrics, with the search for the root of evil and a call for a new generation of myths and leaders.
There is an eerie quality to the lyrics and a sense of discomfort in the desire for cruelty and destruction. It is clear that the song is more about accessing a darker part of oneself, where one can indulge in cruelty and violence, rather than actually desiring this type of destructive world. Overall, "Cordilheira" is a powerful and striking piece of music that speaks to a complex range of emotions and desires.
