I got to meet with her this April after a concert. She is as she appears, gracious and easy to talk with, and interested in who you are. She is tall and trim and with great presence. She left me feeling shriven. Not sure I'll get over the experience.

Actually, Sissel has stated in a number of interviews that when she is performing a song, that she is in a different world. She is no longer on stage, but "enters into and becomes a part of the song and of the experience." That is obvious by watching her (face, eyes, body) when she is singing !!

During the last several years, Sissel Kyrkjebø has been on my radar and carved out a large room in my heart. I adore her so. I am too old and poor to travel to Europe, but if she ever toured America I would travel to the nearest city, and give my life savings to be in the first row and at the meet-and-greet to embrace her. (Of course, my wife might have something to say about such a sacrifice on my part.) What a beautiful woman with the voice of an angel and a heart of pure gold. What a blessed man her second husband is!!!

Thank you The Giff! Lol; that is funny that your lovely wife called your bluff! My wife would have said similarly and then said, "good luck with that!" Yes, precious few men would or could ever marry a woman like Sissel. I don't know what happened to her first husband, but the guy must have been insane to let her go. The same with Shania Twain's first husband.
I rarely promote other artists on someone else's page, and I don't know if she has an official YouTube channel, as this one seems to be run by a Super-Fan, but here are 3 other ladies you might also love (all married, of course): Hayley Westenra of New Zealand; international super-star who's public career ended a few year ago. Katie Melua of the U.K. is another international super-star and her career is still going strong. But the best of all might be Alyona Yarushina, an indie, and largely unknown cover artist with originals yet to come. She hails from Moscow and is incredible! If she was from another European country or the USA, methinks she would be world-famous by now.
