Sizzla, along with reggae recording artists such as Capleton, Buju Banton, and Anthony B, are credited with leading a movement toward a re-embracement of Rastafarian values in contemporary reggae music by recording material which is concerned primarily with spirituality, social consciousness, explores common themes, such as Babylon's corrupting influence, the disenfranchisement of ghetto youth, oppression of the black nation and Sizzla's abiding faith in Jah and resistance against perceived agents of oppression. Sizzla has over 40 full completed albums sold in record stores to date, the most popular which have been "Black Woman & Child" and "Da Real Thing" on the Digital B label, "Praise Ye Jah" on Xterminator, and "Rise to the Occasion" on Greensleeves.
Recently, however, he has come under fire for the homophobic content of many of his lyrics, and the advocacy of violence against gays.

love you so oh oh ah
Girl I love to see you when you dressed up
and freshed up I got it all for you
Don't think I'm rude its just the blessing
when I call to you
I see it in your eyes
Know you wanna be mine
Love is so beautiful ain't it?
Why are we passing each other like that?
Why aren't we talking to each other like that?
I've seen you so many times
Its just hi and bye
Well now is the time
My acquaintance get greater, girl
How about getting to know each other?
How about you and I being much closer?
There's something about her...
Love ain't gonna go away
Love ain't gonna go away
My darling dear we're exchanging words
Showing all my care, trust in love
I see it in your eyes
You're acting shy
Know you wanna be mine
Love is so beautiful ain't it?
Nothing out there is gonna break us up
In each other's arms we're waking up
I've seen you so many times
Its just hi and bye
Well now is the time
My acquaintance get greater, girl
How about getting to know each other?
How about you and I being much closer?
There's something about her...
Love ain't gonna go away
Love ain't gonna go away

In "Knowing Each Other," Sizzla expresses interest in getting to know a woman who he has seen many times before but only exchanged pleasantries with. He admires her when she dresses up and wants to take the opportunity to "get closer" to her. He acknowledges that they have passed each other without much conversation before and wonders why that is. Sizzla believes that love is beautiful and he wants to show her his care and trust. He is confident that nothing can break them apart and that love will not go away.
The song speaks to how people often miss out on potential relationships because they never take the time to get to know each other. Sizzla seems to be urging the woman in question to take a chance on him and see where their connection leads. He views love as a blessing and something worth pursuing.
The repetition of the chorus and the catchy melody add to the song's appeal, making it easy to sing along to. The laid-back reggae beat creates a relaxed and upbeat atmosphere, emphasizing the positive emotions that Sizzla is expressing. Overall, "Knowing Each Other" is a hopeful song about taking risks for love and making meaningful connections.
