You stick to me like glue you just won't let me be
I gave you all my money
Now you say you want my lovin' too
Well I will never let another woman in my life again
There is nothing I can say to ease away this pain
I gave you all my money
Now you say you want my lovin' too
But I will never let another woman in my life again
No I will never let another woman in my life again
There ain't nothing I can do to shake you off my tree
You keep on telling me you want me to stay your _____
But I gave you all my money
So why do you want my lovin' too?
I will never let another woman in my life again
No I will never let another woman in my life again
The lyrics to Snowy White's song "All My Money" speak to a man who is feeling trapped by a woman who seems to want everything he has. The first two lines show how the woman in the song is a constant presence in his life, clinging to him and not allowing him any space to break free from her hold. The phrase "you stick to me like glue" underscores her persistence and the fact that she is not easily pushed away.
The second stanza starts by acknowledging that the singer has given her everything he has. He has given her his money and now she wants his love as well. This creates a feeling of frustration and despair, as if he has no control over his life anymore. The line "well I will never let another woman in my life again" shows that he has been hurt before and is not willing to go through it again.
The final stanza brings everything together, as he acknowledges the hopelessness of his situation. He is in pain, and the devil seems to be taunting him by sending her back again. The repetition of the phrase "I gave you all my money" emphasizes how much he has given up for her, and the fact that she still wants more shows how little she cares for him. The final line puts a definitive stamp on his declaration, stating that he will never allow another woman into his life again.
Overall, "All My Money" is a song about a man who has given up everything for a woman who seems to want more and more. He feels trapped and helpless and is unable to shake her off. The song is a melancholy reminder of how love can turn sour and how we can feel powerless in the face of it.
