The Blues Talking
Snowy White Lyrics

Those empty words keep messing with my head
Same old things and same old strings
But it's not fooling me it's just the Blues talking
I've been hanging on as best I can
I'm taking fire but I'm keeping to my plan
What I didn't see before now is crawling all over me
Maybe it's faith maybe just bad luck
And the life I live is nothing good enough
I had some sleepy moments that I still can't recall
But it's a wonder to me that I'm still here at all
I hear the Blues talking
Yes I hear the Blues talking
It's the Blues
Just the Blues talking to me
In "The Blues Talking," Snowy White sings about feeling lost and disenchanted with the world. The lyrics suggest a sense of weariness with the repetition of life and the meaningless conversations that go on around him. He acknowledges the source of his weariness may be the blues, but he is determined to keep moving forward.
The chorus repeats the line "I hear the Blues talking," suggesting that the singer identifies with the genre and that it provides a voice for his sadness and frustration. He recognizes that while things may be bleak, it's not the end of the world. The song's message is one of resilience - even in the face of difficult times, one can find solace through music that speaks to their soul.
The verses describe the singer's experiences and struggles, but the chorus ties these experiences together, reminding the listener that the blues has the power to uplift and validate feelings of frustration and sadness. With its simple structure and straightforward lyrics, "The Blues Talking" is powerful in its simplicity, serving as a reminder that sometimes, we just need to hear someone else articulate how we're feeling.
