1. Stéphanie Sokolinski, in Bordeaux, France), is a half-French / half-Polish singer & actress (called SoKo as far back as she can remember). She has appeared in several French films & got a start as a singer, after she asked a director to sing, on screen.
In 2007 and 2008 "I'll kill her" became a hit song in a number of countries, including Denmark, Austria, Belgium and Australia. At that time SoKo wasn’t signed by a (major) record label. She says; “I don’t want to sign now because I think it’s really rushed.” At several festivals she mentioned an album might be released in autumn 2008. While many believed SoKo to have stopped playing music, in January of 2010 she once again started playing live shows, and writing new material.
January 2011 : She's currently living in Los Angeles, and has just started a new band (or at least a new muscial collaboration)"MachiNette" with Stella Mozgawa from the band Warpaint.

Why Do You Treat Me Like You Do
SoKo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It would be better than to stand
The look you give me that makes me feel
Like I don't belong here
And you want some fresh meat
So why don't you bite me
Then either way you'll hurt me
Take a picture of me
In your head
When I'm dead
'Cause you won't forget about me
I will scream in your dreams
Why don't you eat me now you can
Eat me now
Eat me now
Eat me now
The lyrics to SoKo's song "14" are written in a very intriguing and cryptic manner. The song starts with the lines, "Why don't you eat me now you can, it would be better than to stand." This can be interpreted in many different ways, but it seems to suggest that the singer is feeling a sense of being unwanted or out of place. The line "The look you give me that makes me feel like I don't belong here" reinforces this idea, and implies that the singer is feeling uncomfortable in her own skin.
The second verse of the song is particularly interesting, as it suggests a possible solution to the sense of alienation that the singer is feeling: "And you want some fresh meat, so why don't you bite me, then either way you'll hurt me, physically and mentally." This line seems to suggest that the singer is open to being hurt, as long as it means that she is being acknowledged or seen in some way. The line "Physically and mentally" is particularly interesting, as it suggests that the singer is willing to suffer in order to feel something, anything.
The final verse of the song reinforces these themes once again, as the singer suggests that even in death, she will not be forgotten, as she will scream in the listener's dreams. Overall, "14" is a song that explores the complexities of the human psyche, particularly when it comes to feelings of insecurity and a desire for connection.

Hey, hey, hey
Why do you treat me like you do?
Hey, hey, hey
Why do you treat me like you do?
There's just as many geese and they're flyin' down South
As there are lies just pourin' out of your mouth
Hey, hey, hey
Why do you treat me like you do?
You say that you're young, gal
I guess that's your big excuse
But sometimes I get so low down
I wanna shout out, "What's the use?"
When you've been a-lovin' someone else you don't try to hide
You take me for a fool, then you take me for a ride
Hey, hey, hey
Why do you treat me like you do?
Ah, you seen my face, gal
With the tears all down my mouth
You came up, you held my hand, gal
You don't know what it's all about
I seen you goin' out, there was nothin' I could say
I hung around your house till the very break of day
Then you came a-laughin' down the bright highway
Now, why do you treat me like you do?
My mornings, they're all empty now
My evenings, they're just the same
Now, maybe I been thinkin' wrong about you, gal
And you ain't really the one to blame
Keep on lovin' someone else, now, don't you try to hide
You can take me for a fool if it keeps you satisfied
'Cause I ain't gonna be the one to ask the reason
Why do you treat me like you do?

I really like this cover, but Donovan's original is so much better. <3

They don't prefer "assholes". It's just that sometimes, we can't help for who we fall, we only see the good part of them, and when they show us the bad side it's already far too late.

A beautiful rendition to the great Donovan song :)

j'aime cette force et cette fragilité à la fois, c'est moderne, frais mais néanmoins cette fêlure dans la voix rend cette interprétation terriblement émouvante...

unasensualita absolument et joliment dit !
