At the stake your about to drive
Feel the tears on your cheeks
Empty needle in your mind
Look into your blood red sky
Where your feeling fly so high
Every once in a while friend
Don't crucify me
I'm not ready to die just yet
I've got something to say, to see, to be
Crucified
Theive me one last chance
To prove what I can
Not made of brittle glass
I'm not a broken man.. no
[CHORUS]
The lyrics of SOiL's song Crucified depict an individual in a vulnerable state, feeling like they are about to be crucified. The opening lines urge the listener to take a look at their hands, reminding them that they are about to drive the stake that will crucify the person. The tears on the person's cheeks indicate their sadness and the empty needle in their mind suggests that they are not in the right state of mind.
As the person looks up to the red sky, they feel like they are flying high but they still need a helping hand once in a while. The chorus of the song emphasizes that the person is not ready to die yet and they have more to say, see, and be. The lyrics indicate that the person is asking for one last chance to prove themselves and that they not fragile and broken.
The song appears to be a plea for help, for understanding, and for redemption. The person is not ready to be crucified yet, and they want to prove that they are still capable of doing something significant. The angst-ridden lyrics are delivered with intense emotion and are sure to strike a chord with anyone who has ever felt alone and hopeless.
